I'm the second poster who didn't want to out myself. The preschools mentioned in this thread are all represented at our "big 3" school, but there are also a handful of kids who came from various daycare situations and a bunch of different Montessoris. From what I've seen, no particular school has any special advantage. The common theme among all the kids is that everyone has been in a group setting of SOME sort. I think the schools find that exposure to a group setting more valuable than what specific preschool a child went to. Some schools, like Little Folks, NCRC, CCBC, CCPC, CCUMC, etc are very well-represented, butI think that's a function of these schools serving very affluent neighborhoods where there might be more demand for private school.

I'm not PP, but I'll give a reason. Some of the people who post on DCUM strike me as quite bonkers, not in a humorous way but in a way that suggests they might show up at my front door one night and start yelling at me, or perhaps start spreading false info about me in retaliation if I disagree with their comments about nannies or red-shirting. I'd just as soon keep RL separate from DCUM. |
Thanks, PP. I'm the one that didn't want to out myself, and your post helps sum-up why not. Even knowing that there is an occasional need to weed through posts by those very few who are bonkers, I find DCUM a helpful way to ask questions and share information. |
Manor Montessori. DC is at GDS now. |
I agree most here are reasonable and helpful people, but there are a few potential nut-jobs here who really seem to be wound too tightly for my comfort. |
