Where did your kids attend preschool? Anywhere other than NCRC, St. John's and the usual "feeders?" |
I don't want to out myself too specifically, but my kids attend one of the "big 3" and went to preschool at one of the preschools affiliated with a Protestant denomination in Chevy Chase. |
Does this mean kids from your family's preschool are so rare that you could be identified just by naming the school? |
I'm not the PP, but I think it doesn't take a lot to be able to recognize a poster you may know IRL. Especially if said poster gives the name of the school DC is attending plus the preschool DC attended. I know I've recognized moms I know IRL from details posted on DCUM. The PP is smart to be careful; the DC area is surprisingly small. |
here let's try to help you out...hmmm protestant preschool in chevy chase, at least 3 spring to mind>>ccbc, ccpc, ccumc. there are probably others but i can't think of them at this second. they're all great preschools and probably place well. |
Why would you care if people can figure out who you are from this info? |

Actually, I think you've sort of proved my point. Kids who move from CCBC, say, to Sidwell may be rare enough to be identified simply on the basis of that information; kids who move from NCRC to Beauvoir are not. |

I'm 14:57, and yes, I posted that to support 14:14 (who must be you?) As for the person who asked why would you care if someone recognized you, surely you're joking. There's the inevitable - oh wow, so your child is at X school and went to Y preschool, what feedback can you give me on the AD? Or some such. Which I for one would not answer if I'd given so much information that I could be recognized. It's one thing to pass on helpful information in this forum, it's quite another to do so knowing that you could be positively identified. The civility level of this forum would probably increase if everyone had to log-in (and therefore lose some anonymity); however, much useful information would be lost too, I'm sure. |
