I never claimed my private cloud had any privacy more or less than Apples. I do not put personal information or nudes on it. I use a Tor bowser and do not allow cookies and change my IP frequently. I still have NO expectation of privacy and never claimed to. As far as my bank, I only bank where FDIC insures my money. I never put more money in any single bank that it can be insured for. |
So by your logic a woman who wears some sexy underwear or goes commando because it turns her on or she's doing it for her lover who gets upskirted is guilty because there has been lots of publicity about creeps who take upskirt pictures and post them on the net. And a woman who gets on a crowded subway and gets groped is responsible because we all know that happens on subways and she put herself in a position where it could happen. And a woman who walks past a construction site is responsible for the catcalls she receives because we all know about the stereotype of construction workers who do that. Etc., etc. Where on that slippery slope would you propose that we stop and accept that the woman is not at fault? |
I agree with everything she said in the article and agree that it's a violation. But it does leave a bad taste in my mouth that the article was published in a magazine that features a picture of her topless on the cover. |
Really? Because you seem to have no problem calling these women "stupid." And even today, Apple bills iCloud as secure. In fact, it states "Apple takes data security and the privacy of your personal information very seriously. iCloud is built with industry-standard security practices and employs strict policies to protect your data." It is completely reasonable to expect that her pics would remain private. Your arguments are completely hypocritical and illogical. You claim that these women were dumb for expecting privacy in iCloud, but see no problem expecting your money to be private in an online banking account, which makes the same representations regarding privacy as iCloud does. You claim that the women are stupid and deserve what happened to them, but won't police the moral values of those who stole their private information and people who took advantage of that theft to gawk at their naked bodies without their consent. You claim to be above such foolish decisions because you take the security of your online data seriously, and then store it in a personal cloud that is significantly less secure. Do yourself a favor. Sit down and really think about why you are holding these positions and what they say about how you view women and their sexuality. |
For context, it's an homage to a famous photo of Elizabeth Taylor. http://tomandlorenzo.com/2014/10/jennifer-lawrence-for-vanity-fair-magazine-2/ |
Actually, I kind of love it. To me, it says "I get to control when and how you see my body." You don't have to be a nun to be entitled to own your sexuality. |
Stop sexting |
Who said anything about fault. I believe it was about accepting responsibility for being careless. Seeing a nude of a person is not the same as sexual assault. As I womn who has been rapped I find your assertion disturbing. |
So, you think it is criminal to share private conversations like the ones between Donald Sterling and his girlfriend? Do yourself a favor. Sit down and really think about why you are holding these positions. You can't have it both ways. |
She send her selfies to her boyfriend. I think this is perfectly ok. Her account was hacked into by using her password and username.
It was not as if she was posting on youtube or imgur or DCUM. It was a hacking crime as well as a sex crime. |
Who said anything about woman being dumb and deserving what happened to them. This is the first I read of that. Im sitting down too and thinking I need to take a hard took at the internet/cloud and control the content since it can be hacked. Or not use it. |
Yeah, I do, actually. That was gross. But it's incredibly telling that you would equate "being a disgusting racist fool" with "sharing sexual images of yourself within a private, consensual relationship." Seriously. Reread your posts. |
Then you should reread the thread to which you are responding:

In Maryland it is illegal to record conversations like that. Doesn't mean I like/hate the guy. I want the law maintained and my private conversations not recorded and made public without my consent or a court order. |
the act is kind of stupid maybe not the person idk, wheres the quote on getting what they deserve I can't find it either. |
