OP here. Thanks for the responses. Those suggested names are great.
To clarify, we don't own Tom anything. He helped us doing some house works but not money. He never asks us to pay or do anything regarding to it. It's just DH idea without discussing with me first. Grrrr |
Um yeah, not "naming-after worthy", IMO. And definitely not something DH should think he can promise without you! |
I have a boy nickname and I actually love it!!! |
ew no! and my daughter has a unisex name |
I love the name Tamsin which is a Scottish version of Thomasine.
You could name her Tamsin and call her Tommy. |
Just be prepared for all the Tom-boy jokes she's going to get. |
Do not name her Tommy. How about Thomas for her middle name? My friend's DD's middle name is Dennis after a close relative who died while my was pregnant. Given the reason, I thought it was a nice middle name. If If I met a girl whose middle name was Thomas, I would assume it was a family surname. Plus, few people will know her middle name. |
+1 |
Your DH promised to name your child after a guy who did some work on your house for you without asking you first? Lady, you've got way bigger problems than whether Tommy works for a girl. |
I will never understand why people bump three year old threads with a comment like this. |
+ 1 He'll probably betrothe your beloved daughter Tommye to the plumber's son before the young lass is even born. |
I thought you meant he donated a kidney or something. No - a stupid promise made to a buddy, probably during beers after helping your DH move some furniture in the house, does not constitute a binding agreement to saddle his firstborn daughter with a masculine name FOR LIFE. FFS, I hope you shut this whole idea down, OP. |
No. Unless you vow to live in a non-English speaking country forever. Even then... |
THIS THREAD IS THREE YEARS OLD. It's a zombie.
Although I am curious as to whether or not Op went with Tommy Girl after all. |
Oh man, I am dying to know what OP named baby maybe Tommy! |
