What do you want for Christmas?

Anonymous
My DH keeps asking me what I want and I honestly can't come up with anything? I am not a person that wants "stuff", so that rules out a lot of things. I also have everything I can think of that I could possibly need (electronics, cooking stuff, etc.). He won't buy me clothes because I always return the too tight and revealing stuff he buys me. Don't care for jewelery. I did tell him he could make me a coupon book for massages, time alone, etc. but he didn't like that idea.

So...what is on your wish list???

massages? time alone? those sound delish! Why would he not like the idea if that is what you want? shoot, I think that's what I want too!

But besides that,

I want a big, huge canvas and new set of paints.

A massage thing that goes on the chair, that I can bring to work.

A dance magazine subscription.

New clothes that fit. I don't fit into anything that I wore last year and I never have time to shop. But he would have to give me a shopping card, not pick out the actual clothes. Oh and that would require time alone to go shopping. At a mall that has those massage shops.

I'm with you - I am into simplifying/decluttering my life, don't really like jewelry since I am too lazy to change it out, and can't think of anything I want/need.

A few gifts that are always appreciated:

(1) Magazine Subscriptions
(2) Massage/Spa Gift Certificates
(3) A night out in a nice hotel with my husband while Grandma watches the kids

Bigger ticket items:

(1) New house fund. Instead of dropping cash on some random thing you don't need, he can put that money into a savings fund for some big ticket item that you really want. For me, its a new house.

IPOD Nano.

But I love mag subscriptions or gift cards to Barnes and Noble as well.

How about a good book or magazine subscription, a Starbucks card, and a promise he'll watch the kids while you go use them?

Also, how about music? CDs, iTunes gift certificate, etc.

I am sorry to say I am a stuff person, so my favorite big ticket gifts are things I wouldn't buy for myself, like a pair of Gucci heels.

I am so with you! After much thought, I did realize I need a rolling pin, but how exciting is that???

I love the idea of a coupon book - so much that I made one for my husband and he didn't really like it. He felt that he can get time alone, massages, and other things without needing a coupon book.

So - I decided to on things that the household needs. On my list:

A new refrigerator
A rolling pin
And he needs to watch our daughter while I workout 3 x a week on our dusty elliptical.

I ask for plastic containers (tupperware, rubbermaid, etc.) since mine seem to disappear (or at least the lids making them useless), stained, or get moldy (does it kill DH to bring home the leftover containers that day instead of a week later?).

I want one of those gel chef's mats, that reduce back and leg strain while standing in the kitchen. They're kinda spendy... $100. So I'd never buy it for myself.

A bay wreath. They smell nice, are pretty, and I can snatch a leaf off it every time I make a soup or stew or a roast.

A flower/fruit of the month club. Another thing I'd never buy for myself, but would really enjoy, through the year.

DVDs of my favorite TV series, including cartoons I loved as a kid, for our littles ones. I can't stand Dora and Sponge Bob. I'm all about Loony Toons, and Pinky and the Brain.

I do not want a "coupon book" from my husband. If I need a foot rub, or the fridge cleaned, or a night out, I simply ask/inform. We're a team. He's not doing me favors by pulling his weight. If that's how things worked, what would happen when I was all out of coupons? No more nights out til next Christmas? No thank you.

I'd love some cool jewelry from Etsy.com.
After I give birth to our second, I'd love a necklace with the initials of my husband, my daughter and our new baby.
I'd love some new clothes that are fun, sexy and non-maternity (they can be some simple basics from Target for all I care).
I'd love some new books that I can read probably a year from now!
I'd love some new bedsheets for our bed. Ours are getting boring and a bit tattered too.
I'd love a new cozy robe for the winter. Mine's old and way too short to keep my legs warm.
I'd love some new perfume, makeup and face cream.
How's all that for materialistic?

I'd love a greenhouse where I could grow plants I like the most for the garden and for cooking.
I'd like a watercolor painting to hang on one of my bedroom walls.
