What do you want for Christmas?

I would love to get an album of my son's first year containing all the pictures I have been too lazy to print out.

A garden with a variety of peonies, planted as soon as the ground thaws in the Spring.

I could really use some new spatulas and a soup ladle.

I try and ask for things that are useful and practical as we're in this de-clutter mode (moving in the spring) so asking for CDs, picture frames, gadgets, and house decorations are not on the list.

My husband coming from work earlier than 9:15 pm.
A small boat, so I can learn sailing before the summer comes.
A genuine, comforting big smile every day.

Watch baby 4 days/week while I exercise after work

I would like someone to put my wedding photos in the lovely album I bought a few weeks ago (wedding was over 3 years ago!). I would also like someone to hang several framed pictures on our walls; I don't have an eye for what would look good where and never seem to hang anything level. I would like someone to organize our guest room (which has become a holding area for outgrown baby clothes/gear) and cart away everything. I guess I'm basically asking for time, more time...when I'm home with the children, I want to be with them during their awake time, so these little projects are piling up...

A cooking class at Sur La Table

pH Advantage glycolic moisturizer

The Family Almanac, by Marguerite Kelly

A pie keeper (like a Tupperware container specifically for pies)

Really warm socks

Arrested Development Season 2 DVD

A DVD of pictures/video of my family, set to music. My BIL did this for my sister last year, and it brought her to tears. Actually, it still makes her cry. There were pics of her from her own baby/childhood, and then pictures and short video clips of their wedding, the birth of their kids, all the way up to now. The songs were great (not super-sappy) and I know she will cherish this for the rest of her life.

One of the best gifts I ever received was a "cookbook" full of recipes from my family. Everyone in my family filled out a recipe card with whatever they considered their specialty, and my SIL put it all together for me. I love it.

Ask for a gift certificate for a professional organizer. (I'm not one, but we use one.)
