Does anyone have any recommendations for an at home doppler? |
This one, no question.

I have that one. I love it. I stuck with using it about 30-60 seconds and not every day to reassure myself after ivf. It worked very well and I picked up the HB pretty early and quickly with it - faster than my OB offices, actually.
Now that I feel the baby move often,I would be happy to sell it at half price. I don't use it any more. |
I am interested in buying it. Do you have an email address I can contact you at?
|
Yep, jeserf@yahoo.com.
It's ready to go including gel! Am happy to give it a new home, just try not to use it all the time because it's still a medical device. That's why I really did a couple times a week for about a minute. The relief of the worry stress was a big help for me. |
Email not working... Is it correct? |
Angel care off amazon. |
I had this and returned it for the Sonoline. - 20:21 |
lotio FWIW, I bought one used and when I ran out of gel it worked fine with regular motion. Just FYI, in case that also happens to you. |
Oops, lotion, not motion. |
At what week do these home devices reliably detect heartbeats? I am at 8 weeks, but I only want to buy one when it will be reliable (so I don't scare myself when I can't detect a heartbeat). |
You should really never rely on a home monitor. They can give you a false sense of security if something else is going on. |
At 8 weeks, you won't hear anything. For me, I knew which was my HB and which was baby. However, I really limited my use and it did give me peace of mind. But by 17 or 18 weeks I could feel baby somewhat reliably. It did hold me over and keep my stress at bay.
They aren't for everyone, I can only recommend the brand I used that was very easy and worked well for me. |
OP here. I'm debating whether I should even get one. I'm 16 weeks and hopefully will start feeling the baby move consistently soon. I was just hoping to maybe bridge the gap between doctor visits. I have a 5 week gap between appts and that seems like a lifetime. |
Like a PP said above, you shouldn't rely on these for peace of mind. Even if baby has a detectable heartbeat, something else could be wrong. But if you rely on the Doppler, you will think all is ok and won't go in. At your gestation, I wouldn't get one. It is always better to go in than not. |
