Ah, the Jeffinator special: Conservatives can have all their posts strung together and publicly criticized by Jeff. Then mob mentality sets in. Fun times. |
Yes, to to that thread and see that this poster has not been "outed". He, as well as every poster in the thread other than me, is anonymous. I simply asked what candidate he was supporting. He volunteered the information. Republicans are supposed to be manly men who shoot bears and eat them raw. But, they turn out to be the biggest cry babies I've ever seen. |
Gotta love the salon libs on here.
1 % ters high on kool aid, pretending to care about the rest. |
I think he just outs deranged assholes, regardless of party. |
So true! They are the touchiest bunch you ever saw. They act so wounded when someone calls them on some bullshit. I guess that's what happens when you live in a protective bubble where everyone agrees with you and no one dares to think for themself. |
Really? You think all of them are like that? Well, personally, I agree with a lot of liberal positions, specifically the social ones. But I'm fiscally conservative. I believe government should have less involvement in our lives. I believe in personal responsibility. I believe we need to help people get off the welfare system. But does this mean I'm a right-wing nut job? Also, I've never shot a bear and ate it. ![]() |
Bingo. I am socially pretty liberal. Don't do it on my lawn, I won't do it on yours. I don't, however, believe that every socially liberal cause needs to be dealt with on a Federal level. |
Thank you for this forum. I am plagued by the divisiveness in my own home. DH has evolved since the first term into a "Prepper". I don't think there is a shred of logic to this, and it feels like it is starting to shred the family fabric (not unlike the politicization we experience nationally). Any advice on how to work collaboratively. I am so bummed! What's the best M.O.? I am sure I am not alone. BTW, I grew up overseas and was evacuated on more than one occasion, so I feel like I have seen the real thing (blackouts, then separated from the home (including pets and everything you own) for weeks; once there was nothing to return to; once it was fine to return). I have no squabble with the recently purchased guns (not a fan, but not squabbling). But I really don't get it and I am finding it increasingly difficult to deal with. |
What if we dont care about EITHER side? What if I we think the whole damn thing is messed up?
Are anarchists welcome? lmao |
Thank you for taking my generalization so literally. What a great way to demonstrate what a touchy lot you are, even the ones who think you are nothing like the rest. |
I think its actually the reverse: there are people in every country of the world, not just ours, who see those different from themselves or change in general as threatening, these people THEN withrawl into a protective bubble, because they feel less threatened there. Surrounding themselves with people who think just like them, they then attack/strike out against those who they never had the courage to explore knowing, sharing with on na equal footing. Fascism was a world wide movement for a reason. I see it as a more primitive human response, but it stays with us because intermittentantly in our world we do have crisis that lead to war and conflict, which pulls these people out of the wood work , giving them power ( Cheyney comes to mind)the refuse of whch takes a while to clear( the dissaray at the justice department after Bush) |
Perhaps. But the bolded phrase is actually the definition of conservatism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservatism |
Perhaps PP, perhaps...but I also look to this "definition"
There is no single set of policies that are universally regarded as conservative, because the meaning of conservatism depends on what is considered traditional in a given place and time. Thus, conservatives from different parts of the world - each upholding their respective traditions - may disagree on a wide range of issues. |
That's just another way of saying they find change threatening. |
And yet millions of Americans looked the other way when Joe Biden, Hillary Cinton and Dear Leader all spoke of their firm belief in traditional marrage in 2007. I think you confuse "change" with rammed down throats without comprimise. Telling a business owner that they now have to pay for their employees birth control isn't change, it's force. |
