I just finished week 1. I'm proud for making myself get up in the morning and just get after it. I have a long ways to go, but I just wanted to say that I'm proud of myself.
That's all. |
Good job! I loved couch to 5k. |
Good for you! I am hoping to start on Monday after my kids go to school-I'll post back if I actually do it![]() |
Way to go!!! You will amaze yourself! |
Good going! I started and stopped this last year -- this is a great reminder to start it (and follow through) with it this year! |
Me too. September 4th is the first day of school for my kids and Day 1 on Couch25K. I did it two years ago and loved it. I let myself slide this past year and I can't wait to get started again. Congrats, OP. |
I just started week 8 of C25K and I can't believe I ran 28 minutes straight today!! Never thought that I would be capable of that. It's certainly not easy but I feel such a sense of accomplishment. Good luck to you and stick with it! |
What is it? Is there a Website? |
Couch to 5k - Google it. There's a lot of info out there. I use an app called Rundouble. It tells you when to walk and run. |
Good for you, OP. Couch to 5k is a great program. It was the only success I'd ever had with running.
|
That's awesome! Good for you! |
I did it last year and am so proud of myself. NO way I'd ever think I could run a whole 5k.
FYI, for those considering it who haven't run before - I'm going to admit that I found it too hard in the beginning. I couldn't run for 1 minute or whatever their starting point is. My partner and I found we had to run for 30 seconds to start, for a week, then 45 seconds, then we hit the minute. Basiclaly we built in some pre-weeks. And then we also found, during busy times, we might repeat a week. But in the end it worked great. |
Started Monday, my thighs are killing me! But I feel like I have so much more energy already |
I made it through the entire program over the summer.(I started in May and didn't let up, even on the 100 degree afternoons) I loved the program overall, and even though I finished week 9 over a month ago, I'm still running for 30 minutes, 3 times a week. It was rough at first, but I realized after week 5 that it was more of a mental challenge than physical at that point.(My body could run the required times, I just had to make sure I didn't convince myself otherwise) The biggest benefit to me was how much better I felt overall, particularly after the week 4-5 point. At a certain point, I even started looking forward to the runs, although I've learned not to over-do it, no matter how good I feel at the time.
I've also since started supplementing my runs with other exercises(pushups, crunches, squats, and some light weights) on the my off days. There are similar programs for those as well, which I'm currently working my way through.(Although I'm not sure how far I'll get through the 100 pushups program) I think the biggest thing I learned from the C25K program is not to worry about starting small, and just keep at it until you get the results you want. |
Anyone do this with a double bob? I was about 4 weeks in with our single bob, but had to stop when I got horrible morning sickness with #2. Any chance I can resume this fall with both kids? Or just too much to try? |
