Hope he gets off. Sounds like the police are recognizing him for the hero that he is.

In this country, we do not take the laws into our own hands. Murder is murder. This is not a case of self defense

You are a useless human being and if you are a troll god help you in life to find a path of normalcy. Good for the father may the family have the strength and courage to overcome this horrendous situation.

Should have physically castrated him before killing him. Deserved what he got.

Clearly, you do not have children.

or maybe are a perv ... didn't eric toth post on DCUM? Today began the Sandusky trial. former graduate assistant coach Michael McQueary [and ex quarterback ] was large enough but lacked the ba11s to help a child.

If I Werevon the jury-- he'd walk free and clear. Bravo I'd do the same thing. In fact- my 70 year old dad says that if anything like this happened to one of his grand kids he'd be the one to go after the guy since he has less long to live than my and sibling's spouses.

The man is justified. I'd be in a complete rage too.

Whatever, pedophile.

Good for him.

It's kind of a sick thought, but I'm comforted by the fact that if something similar happened to our daughter, my daughter's ex-Navy SEAL dad would not hesitate to do the same thing and I wouldn't have to do it myself. (he knows more ways to kill a guy than I do.)

In the USA, we have something called "defense of others", particularly someone too young, old or incapacitated to defend themselves.

ITA with you.

That's why this guy is a hero. The law didn't stop him from doing what was right. It is illegal but it was the right thing to do.

I'd have ripped the pedophile's balls with my hands before killing him, though.

THIS!!! It is called defense of thrid party. It is self defense you idiot because the 4 year old couldn't invoke the right of self- defense on her own behalf, the father had a right to defend her. How'd you do in law school? Oh wait, you don't sound like you went to law school.

I would hope he killed the pedophile in a slow painful maner.

Yes it is. At least in Texas it is. You can protect your home and your family within your home with deadly force in the midst of a felony.

This man deserves a medal for standing up to evil and protecting his daughter. Like a PP said above, she will never forget that her daddy did all he could to protect her when he was faced with the worst thing a father could see.

The "castle doctrine" applies to your family as well so the homocide is completely justifiable. Besides so DA in his right mind will bring charges up on this man.

Thank God the father was able to stop the attack. Hope he and his daughter will eventually be okay. My heart goes out to them.

No way I'd return a true bill if I were on that grand jury.

Good.

At worst he could be convicted of voluntary manslaughter, because the assault of his daughter was provocation. Even so, he was acting in defense of his daughter and it's unlikely a jury would convict him.
