Yeesh!
The article goes on to include some positive suggestions about how society should look at bullying. |
More digging deep to find something to bash Mitt about (other than current issues affecting america right now, of course?
You must have a lot of time on your hands and be feeble-minded (so as to be so easily deflected and distracted by the mainstream media away from current issues affecting americans right now and that should be of significant importance to you in your voting decision, albeit judging from your post, they won't be at all - you probably have no clue what the hell is going on). |
This strikes me as eerily reminiscent of the shit Dubya would do.
I have the urge to go watch Dead Poets Society now. |
Well, I'm sure that you didn't participate in the Obama eating dog meat thread, right? Or, is that one of the "current issues affecting americans" that you think are so important? |
I'm interested in education topics, and this article popped up on the Post's education page, so I shared it here. I like what it says about bullying. Yes, the young Mitt Romney does sound like a bit of a shithead. I trust he's gotten a little more mature over the past 40 years. We don't know each other, so I'll assume your personal insults are merely misdirected. If you'd like to dance, just say the word, because I can do that too. |
Obama smoked crack big deal is this the best wapo has? |
And Obama admitted in his book that he shoved a girl in middle school. Where is the 5,000 word Washington Post article on that? Yes, Mitt was a few years older; he also didn't pick on a girl. This dog ain't gonna hunt for the Dems. Woof, woof, Mr. Steele. |
And while we are digging up the past, here is a link to a story showing just how much of a jerk Mitt really is:

What a dick. ![]() |
I'm as liberal as they come, and I have no intention of voting for Romney - but come on, this is an absurd story by the Post. How is this even remotely relevant to the election? Answer - it's not, and stupid shit like this gives the right even more ammunition to complain about the so-called liberal media. |
We may have to move this thread to the politics forum given how it is shaping up. But, are you kidding? Have you not been paying attention to how elections are run in this country? During the last election, an essay Obama wrote in third grade in which he said he wanted to be president was used against him: http://www.politicsdaily.com/2007/12/03/hillary-hits-obama-for-kindergarten-essay/ Did you miss the press frenzy about Obama being served dog meat by his step-father when Obama was in elementary school (a story promoted by the Romney campaign): http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/04/obama-as-a-boy-ate-dog-meat/ If Obama's elementary school years are fair game, then certainly Romney's high school days are fair game as well. |
It was silly, stupid shit when it was brought up about Obama, and it's silly stupid shit when it's brought up about Romney. I'm not naive enough to think it'll stop, but I think it's ridiculous on both sides. Or do you disagree? Do you think this story should have any bearing on whether Romney is elected president? |
There are a lot of things about our campaigns that I wish didn't happen and that I don't think should have any bearing on who wins. I wish that people didn't care about which candidate they would rather have a beer with, I wish that physical appearance wasn't so important, and I wish that voters didn't feel that it is important for a candidate to kiss babies. I don't think any of those things bear on a candidate's ability to govern. But, that's the world in which we live. I don't think that it is important that Romney may have engaged in anti-gay bullying 50 years ago. However, I do find his equivocation on the topic today illustrative of his character. Initially, Romney said he didn't remember the incident (despite at least 5 classmates being able to remember it). Then, he said that he was sure that he wasn't motivated by the possibility of the victim being gay. Then, he said that he did a lot of pranks in high school and was sorry if anyone was hurt. Never mind the non-apology apology, does anyone believe he would have forgotten this incident? If Romney would have simply owned up to the incident and offered a more sincere-sounding apology, then it would be a non-issue to me. But, the way he is handling it directly feeds the narrative that he simply says whatever is expedient regardless of the truth. It is that inability to be honest -- even about events 50 years ago -- that I think makes this a legitimate campaign issue. |
I agree 100%. He didnt say, I did it and I regret it. He didn't say, I did not do it. He said he doesn't recall doing it, but he's sorry if he ever did anything that hurt anyone. What was described, to me, would be a very memorable event, so I would thnk he either would remember it or be certain he didn't do it. I don't fault him for having faulty judgment as a teen, I do fault him for showing faulty judgment now. |
Jeff, I loved that thread! I copied some of those hilarious dog chasing or scared doggie pics and posted them all over my FB - you don't find that funny? Even Obama thinks it's funny (or at least he joked about it at the White House Correspondents dinner). That was actually a great bit (that dinner, Obama, Kimmel, etc.) |
