By the way, back *ON* topic, thanks Jeff for creating this forum. You may not post all the information and answers, but you give us the means to help each other whether by supplying shared experience, a shoulder to cry on, or a place to vent. I'm a relative newbie here (only about 7 months), but DCUM has become a very valuable resource to me, especially now that I have newborns in the house and don't get out nearly as much as I used to.

Jeff should be giving back to the companies that employ the readers for all of the lost productivity. I've worked for 3 companies since joining the DCUM community and I cannot say that any of them are better off because of it

If I have the story correct, DCUM was Maria's idea and Maria quit her other job/career to manage DCUM full-time. |

That's mostly correct. A friend of Maria's had an idea for a "real life" Mom's group. Maria had the idea for a virtual counterpart, which ended up being the more popular aspect of it. DCUM grew out of that. Maria quit her job with the intention of putting her time into developing new features for DCUM. However, she has since been diverted onto another project in which the two of us are involved. |

He is clearly referring to the legislation that he introduced or and/or co-sponsored which led to the Internet as we know it. It's was clumsily worded, but it's a pretty common way for legislators to talk about things. The legislation was indeed key to expanding the Internet beyond its original scope. |
