Did Footloose really need to be remade?

No, it really did not and for Kevin Bacon to turn down a cameo role because he didn't want to lessen the film's integrity is beyond laughable.

Now I'm gonna go fill out that AARP form so I can be ready and get my card as soon as I'm eligible here in a few years.

I'm with you. I've stopped admitting to it, though, because people are horrified. I've also never seen Heathers. Thank god for anonymous fora.

Ok "Footloose" I can let go, but you've never seen "Heathers"?

19:58, I got a solicitation to join AARP when I was not even 30. I filled out the form, looking forward to my days of discounts, etc. Instead I got an "Associate Membership" where I got the newsletter and learned new ways to scam old people.

Based on the pictures, apparently they've decided Ariel needs to be a lot sluttier looking this time around.

OP here. I don't know how the term revival can be applied to a movie.

I do remember that when I was a kid my mom took us to see Footloose in the theater with our friends and their mom (their older two were 1 and 3 years older than me) and we left in the middle of the movie because my mom decided it wasn't appropriate. I don't remember how old I was, maybe middle school, but my parents were always pretty conservative about movies. Our friends stayed for the whole movie. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if I've ever seen all of Footloose or Dirty Dancing in one sitting.

I got that too! I wrote "WRITE BACK IN 25 YEARS" on it in sharpie and sent it back. Haven't heard from them since.

In my remake of Footloose, Ren would sue in the local federal court on the basis the ban on music an dancing violates the First Amendment. He would win in about 2 seconds.

No. Will not watch it. Won't watch the remake of Dirty Dancing, either. Don't mess with perfection.

Screw that. I love me some Footloose and I don't care who knows it!

I never saw the original movie until recently. I watched 30 minutes of it and it was terrible. I was heavy into watching videos (who wasnt) back then so I felt as if I'd seen it. However..back in the day I jammed to the soundtrack (nonstop) and when the songs come on now, I find it impossible not to sing, dance along.

No. Now the Saw series? Those are important films (except for Saw IV).

Heathers was edgy, essential viewing back in the day. Footloose? Not so much.

I don't think Footloose need to be remade at all. It's a B movie, yes. But is was satisfying like half a jar off Fluff™ on big mug of hot chocolate. Can't be improved upon really. Kevin Bacon was smokin' hot in that movie and...ahhhhhhh! *trips over walker*

Just watched the trailer for the new movie.

Holy Sh*t that looks terrible.
