Adult Halloween costumes - if you're over 40, what's age appropriate but still sexy?

My best feature is my legs. My DH loves black boots with a high heel, so that's a given. Thanks!

Age appropriate be damned, it's Halloween. Unless you are taking the kids trick or treating in it then wear what you want.

to use the boots:
Pirate Wench
Catwoman
Evil witch or fairy
superheroine

Witch? Just get a black dress, witch hat and maybe a cape. You can always sex it up with lowcut dress/ fishnets, etc.

OP here. This is for an adults only party, no chance of me trick or treating and scaring the kids. DH loves Catwoman; I'm just afraid that at 42 I will look ridiculous.

Hey - if you have the body to pull it off, go for it!

Which CatWoman?

Julie Newmar/Lee Merriweather
Halle Berry
Michelle Pfeiffer

After a few drinks who is really going to care. Besides you may end up leaving the party early if you know what I mean

All the "sexy" costumes are lame. Go for something fun.

Then you can go retro as MP Sgt Louise Cooper from Stripes Tho I don't think that alot of people will get that one. She really hasn't done much that would be iconic costume wise. Go with Catwoman (the Julie Newmar/Lee Merriweather version) it will be more forgiving.

Hot teacher. Pencil skirt, slightly unbuttoned blouse with a peak of camisole. High heels. Hair in a loose bun and cute cat eyed glasses.

Go as Michelle Bachman.

"Sexy" costumes are lame and childish and why on earth women think its fun to look like a tramp on Halloween when they know it isn't okay to do this other times during the year I will never understand. They just look pathetic and sad to me.

I'll tell you why....we miss our "going out to clubs" clothes and it's an excuse to wear something other than jeans and a suburban mom blouse.
