I've read all the prep from the doctor but does anyone have first hand experience to share...what to expect...
Mine are under the muscle. |
Seriously reconsider.
I got them 25 years ago and they have had to be replaced 3 times. Expensive, many scars, and as you get older and are at more risk for cancer, they interfere with mammography/detection. If you can learn to live with what you have, please do. Looking back, I would never have done it. And unfortunately, getting them out permanently, would leave empty, deflated sacks. I'm 50 and hope I only will need a redo one more time. If you go through with it, you'll be very sore, bruised and swollen, but it's fine in a week or so. Sorry, I know you don't want to hear what I have to say, but I tell everyone who I meet who is considering implants to not get them. I would feel remiss if I didn't even tell a stranger on DCUM |
My Mom had to have hers replaced 3 times as well. The first time from silicone to saline. The second time because the saline one had slipped out from under the muscle. The third time because one of them got rock hard and was hurting her. She said if she could have done it over again, she would not have gotten them.
My Aunt had to remove hers after having gone through breast cancer treatment. Almost everyone I know with fake breasts outside of my Mom and Aunt have had some kind of problem with them. Actually, I read somewhere (if I can remember the link I will post it) that most people who get fake breasts will need them replaced within 10-15 years. |
Echo the 8:30 PP. How old are you? As I got older, they gave me a more "matronly" look. I think it does that for most people over 40. If you must go through with this, I recommend that if you are thin, to not go any larger than a B.
I got mine taken out after 9 years. Fortunately, they "fluffed" back up nicely, although it took about a year. I think I got lucky, though. |
One of my breasts was scarred/deformed by an emergency operation (not cancer). It too 'fluffed back' ![]() |
My cousin had hers redone twice. Her first job was done by some incompetent boob (couldn't help myself).
think lopsided and painful She finally found a wonderful doctor - but only after she could scrounge up the money to pay him b/c good doctors don't come cheap. Her breasts look great, I'll admit. So to each her own. |
Mine are fine, am 38 and got them 1.5 years ago. They were completely deflated & saggy after nurding & weight loss. Got saline under muscle. Two regrets are 1- i lost all nipple sensation which is supposedly rare, and 2 - wish i'd done an average C and not fuller C. but really, they are 10x better than what nature left me with. I will go slightly smaller next time. I just took three days off work plus the weekend and was fine. Started running again after 4 weeks.

Wow - If OP were posting about getting an abortion and a subsequent poster said "don't do it", "reconsider", etc then folks would come out of the woodwork calling that poster a horrible person, b****, etc. It's OPs body and she should do what makes her feel best. The horror stories are NOT the norm. Rock on, OP!
|
Well, she asked what to expect and people are telling all sides. I am sure she researched a lot and meant what to expect the first week but....
Good luck OP whatever you decide. |
i had mine done under the muscle 5 years ago. Love them Best decision I ever made Go for it xxx |
Same here. Got them 5 yrs ago at GW with Dr. Olding. Great experience and they look amazing! |
A friend got hers done 15 or so years ago, and now complains that they make her look fatter. |
Yes, they will make you look more matronly as you age. |
This is really similar to what a friend of mine looked like before and after, with just a lift. The scars faded and over time and they looked youthful and perky. Her husband was very happy with them, too!!
