Yes, it is an economic issue because Fox News is stirring it up instead of covering real news...like economics. The GOP got lower income people to vote for them (and their rich tax breaks) by bringing up gay marriage. This is how they dupe people. |
I hadn't heard about this until I saw the page on Yahoo today.
Seems like FOX is getting some push back on this story. And, if you read the comments, most people seem to think that this is an extraordinary waste of time. I agree! First off, it's a picture of a mom and son spending quality time together! How can you not be in support of that? And, if you want to get up in arms about something, work on all the kids who aren't getting an education, or who are not being fed. Don't stress about boys getting their nails painted. |
LOL @ 'psychological sterilization'?? WTF? |
I wouldn't want my wife painting my son's toenails, but not that big of a deal. |
I thought it was an invasion of privacy. I am liberal, but the idea of a boy being in a picture for all to see with pink toenails seems invasive to me. What will the boy think when he's 20 -- that his mom let this picture go public. God forbid he wants to join the Marines or something someday. |
Or maybe he will turn out really cool and be happy that his mom let him have a little fun and not worry so much about stupid gender stereotypes. |
Just trying to understand why a picture of a child wearing pink nail polish (regardless if it's a boy or a girl) is an invasion of privacy. Does that mean a picture of a little girl playing with a tonka truck is an invasion of privacy? Also, when he's 20, he'll probably be surrounding himself with like-minded people. People who don't care that he had pink toe nails when he was five. |
I would not paint my son's toenails for the same reason I don't paint my nails... because nail polish is toxic, and so is nail polish remover. No other reason. |
I like gender stereotypes. I like girls girly and boys boyish. So I wouldn't do it, and I'd give you an internal eye roll if I saw you doing it. But, whatever. |
My boys 3 and 5.5 always notice my toes...and comment how only girls paint their toenails. They will often compliment my choice of color..but not once have they ever asked to have their own toenails painted. If they did--I'd say 'no'. I am very socially liberal btw....many friends of all types and feel if anyone wants to get married---so be it.
Not a fan of that ad. Trying to hard. There was a woman at my son's preschool that was always painting her son's toenails and fingernails. I am sorry-but I found it weird. I am also not a fan of super long hair on boys. There was a boy with hair clips at the park today ~6 yrs old and his hair was bra-strap length. Not my thing. |
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that none of the people you've taken pains to describe care in the slightest that you disapprove. |
...and I guess what I could give a sh*t either. I am sure there are a million things I do that aren't their cup of tea either. I am not out there protesting or even mentioning it to anyone else. Haven't you ever seen something and thought "yuck'. Everyone has. It is part of being human. It is how you act on those innate preferences which is what is important. I am not shunning people, not hiring them or preventing my kids from playing with them, etc. Give me a break. Some of you ppl really need to lighten the f*ck up. |
I am going to go out on a limb and guess that you hate Snooki's orange glo and guidette get-ups, you hypocrite. |
Not likely. |
Jenna just ruined his chances of ever becoming President with that ad ![]() |
