J Crew Ad

What a stupid story! And what a great way to incite and spread more homophobia. Jeez!

I work at an all boys school and plenty of boys wear pink shirts or pink ties or pink pants....just not all at the same time. I like to say that real men wear pink. Pink is a wonderful color and looks great against any skin color. African americans wearing pink looks absolutely striking. Caucasians and asians look great it in it because it enhances a healthy glow.

I love it when my DS wears a pink shirt. And I'm glad that he is confident enough to do so.

No doubt J Crew is loving the publicity, especially given its urban clientele who will most likely disagree with the commentary. They say there is no such thing as bad publicity. This is probably an example of planted controversy -- PR people at work. Don't underestimate the intention behind advertising; sometimes its value is less in the ad and more in the dialogue it sparks. Does this ad sell a product to you, or an image? For many, it's an image, the image of a family lifestyle you'd like, and in that image, you're all wearing J Crew clothes!

Me too. I'm so proud of him when he says "there are no boy colors or girl colors." He looks really good in pink.

Preppy men have worn pink for ages. I don't think that is a big deal. Nail polish on boys---men...still not my thing. I always find the metrosexual men getting their fingernails buffed and with clear polish to effeminate for my taste.
