When the catalogue came, I was not disturbed by the pink polish and more disturbed by the fact that mother and son were super WASP-y, which is not what my family is.

this is exactly what i do. it starts with me painting my toe nails then my four year old girl wants her nail's painted then my two year old sons wants some color. usually i just paint his big toe and he goes away happy. it is not a big deal at all!

on another note... my two year old ds wears nail polish of all colors, my dd's princess dresses, tutu's, etc..., but (on laundry day) my dh tried to put my dd's pink training underwear on him and he had an absolute fit!!! he did not want to wear them at all. he kept saying mine are blue, mine are blue... what was that about?

Why do people have to be so stupid about this stuff? It's not a big deal. Nail polish will not make your son gay if that's what you're worried about!

Fox News is brain-fodder for fucking imbiciles. I challenge you to watch more than 30 seconds of "Fox & Friends" with "Douchey Steve Doucey" and not come out the other end appreciably less intelligent. Guy used to be the local DC "wacky weatherman", and now he's some sort of guru for Red State morons. So sad.

Maybe because underwear is more personal? Two year olds are of the mind set that anything girlie might turn them into a girl... so maybe he didn't mind playing dress-up etc., but wearing something that is worn everyday (and has more to do with how you identify yourself gender wise,) might seem like a threat to him.

I'm not disturbed that WASP-y people exist, otherwise I would be disturbed at my WASP-y husband's very existence. Maybe it's irrational but there's simply something about J. Crew that bothers my minority soul.
