DItto for me- specifically told me to take "D" - and I found it worked better than regular sudafed. |
You need to drink a ton or water when you take mucinex
This is what works for me Netti pot 2-3 times a day Take a sudafed and a mucinex (I use the Target brand non extended relief) in the morning, drink at least 8 oz of water every hour So I only take a mucinex in the morning because I don't drink that much water while I am sleeping At night before bed take one benadryl Do this for 3-5 days and it should improve, then just do the netti pot twice a day This should help, if not you might want to go see an ENT and/or ask your OB what you can take for allergies |
I had the same and was weary of any meds, my PCP suggested the Neti-pot which was seconded by my OB, only like $15 at CVS, totally cleared a horrible sinus infection, I use it now for allergies, I had misplaced it and after a week of misery used it this season and it was great, you flush out your sinuses with warm salt water, immediate relief, takes getting used to the first time, but nothing else worked and was safe |
I had the same problem early on in preg #2. I thought it was allergies or a sinus infection before I found out I was pregnant. Nothing worked for me ... I tried neti pot, saline drops, breathe right strips, Claritin, etc. Somehow it mysteriously disappeared around 12 weeks, so hang in there and hopefully it will go away. |
Another vote for the neti put. Works wonders. I used to get horrible sinus infections and using in 2x/day without fail has prevented me from having any in a year. If you're really miserable, see an ENT; I love Dr. Catherine Picken at 2440 M Street. The ENT can coordinate with your doctor or midwife. Good luck and hope you feel better! |
