Hi everyone!
This is my 3rd pregnancy and after having delivered two with Reiter and Hill, it's time to say enough's enough. That place has become such a factory. I always have to wait at least 30 minutes for an appointment, have to book appointments months in advance to actually see my doctor...no one in the front office is particularly friendly, and the nurses seem so "green." I'd love to find a female OB who delivers at Sibley and takes the Federal Employee BCBS plan. Is Foxhall OB-GYN any better than R&H? Any other good ones you'd recommend? Thanks so much..... |
no advice for you, only commisseration. i was with them when i was first pregnant four years ago, and it was a great decision to switch- talk about being treated like a number! i thought i was miscarrying and when they did the tests the lady told me to "assume you are miscarrying unless you get a call from us" to tell me the tests indicated otherwise.
she's four now; i never got a call. |
I left Reiter and Hill and it was the best decision. I am a FTM, and had no idea how awful they were until I switched to someone else! |
I am with PPs - I just made the switch and could not be happier! I am not pregnant yet, but knew that RHJ was not going to be the right delivery mentality for me, so I switched before my last annual to the midwives at GW*. Best decision I have made for my health and my family in a long time.
*Sorry that I can't give you any Sibley recs. I have a friend who just had her 2nd C-section with Foxhall (doctor would not let her try for a VBAC) - she is generally happy with her doctors, but unhappy with the Foxhall/Sibley delivery rules. |
Yes, Foxhall is way better. Try Dr. Lightfoot or Dr. Pardo at Foxhall, they both take BCBS. I see Dr. Beckerman but I think he no longer takes that insurance. |
Again, not much help to you but I did what this previous poster did and switched at a positive pregnancy test. I really stopped liked RHJ years ago, but intertia is a bitch. Switch! |
I switched to Dr. DeSouza & he delivers at Sibley. He is a male where I have always typically gone to and prefer females, but I am getting over it. So far I am very happy with my switch. |
I second Desouza. He knows his patients and you never feel like a number. I am very happy with him--and I switched fro RHJ. |
I loved fox hall. Particularly Dr Pardo. Two babies with them no complaints. |
So funny, I was just in at RH today and waited only 10 minutes for my appt. Yes, at the DC office. And I always find the staff friendly. I just never seem to have the experiences that other posters here seem to have. |
I liked Foxhall very much. Dr. Lightfoote and Dr. Pardo were my favorites, but Dr. Stany is very nice too. |
Bump |
I love Dr. Robert Footer - really relaxed, and yet detail oriented, personable, experienced doc. He saved my baby's life. |
LOVE the midwives at GW. If you are early in your pregnancy, I think it's worth at least getting on the waitlist. Is there a reason you want to deliver at Sibley? I've heard GW is great for delivery.

I went to the CC office for RHJ and really liked it. Got very personal care and the only time I waited was when I had sonograms. |
