PSA: Andor is great even if you have zero interest in Star Wars

Anonymous
Just posting this for the folks in the back. I saw the original Star Wars movie at the drive-in with my parents as a kid in 1976/77, and the 2 original sequels as a teen, and I thought they were okay. I have never seen or been remotely interested in anything Star Wars since then. I watched Andor only because someone I know plays a minor character in season 2.

It is truly terrific. Great writing, casting, acting, editing, everything. And incredibly subversive for a Disney production. A tale for our time. The first episode of S1 is a little hard to get into, but I was totally hooked by the end of episode 3. Highly recommend!

My mom's more into British mystery shows than Star Wars and loves Andor. They filmed a lot of it in the UK (the oje planet is basically the Scottish Highlands) and a lot of the bit roles are actors you'd recognize from BBC shows.

It’s so good. One of my favorite shows of the last few years. Maybe #1.

It looks fantastic and it has incredible acting

Someone on X said: Watching the end of Andor, then Rogue One, then A New Hope rocks, because the plot and the aesthetic are basically seamless, but everyone in the galaxy gets way stupider over the course of maybe a week.

Gonna give it a go before we dump Disney plus. Thanks for the PSA

I've tried watching Star Wars movies and couldn't get into them. I've always thought they were overrated. I gave Andor a try based on the hype and it didn't disappoint. It really is great!

I've watched all of the Star Wars stuff just because it was something to watch, and liked some more than others. But I'm not a Star Wars person - I haven't rewatched anything, for example.

At the end of Season 1 of Andor I had the thought "this is why I watched all that other crap - to get to watch this." And it took me almost 5 episodes to get "into" it.
