Just for the record, the South Korean President was impeached by the country's Parliament and that impeachment was upheld by the country's Constitutional Court. The only attempted invasion of the Parliament was conducted on behalf of the President and that is one of the reasons for his impeachment. As far as I can tell, the OP of this thread is simply suggesting that our Congress act in a similar manner and impeach Trump and that, hopefully, such an impeachment would be upheld by our Supreme Court. I'll give the OP points for optimism, but I don't see how such a proposal could compromise me in the slightest. |
? you really are ignorant. South Korean did not "overthrow" an elected official. They used constitutional legal means, ie, impeachment. The US also has that same legal means to do so peacefully. The last time a group of so called patriots tried to over throw an election was when the J6 insurrectionists stormed the Capitol, and their Dear Leader supported it, and pardoned them. |
No. Don't want South Korean education system here. Something halfway would be good. -Korean American |
A functioning political class. Our GOP has been completely hijacked and hasn't been a balanced negotiation partner since W was president and at this point is simply rubber stamping MAGA. |
What South Koreans have is that they can see a country to their northern border under sick authoritarian rule, they don’t want the same for themselves and their children. So, they took to the streets and ousted this bozo as president.
They live with the horror stories of things happening in N. Korea on a daily basis, they will do everything to avoid that freak show. |
True. Community and a sense of dignity. We have neither. We have MTG |
Democracy is newer to them and they don’t take it for granted. They are also not nearly as entitled and self-centered as Americans |
Unlike the South Korean President, Trump isn’t being ousted or facing removal from office. He didn’t call for martial law or try to jail his political opponents on the left—moves that would only create more chaos, not solve problems. Instead, Trump recently signed an executive order focused on cracking down on illegal immigration and cutting certain parts of the government. While controversial, it’s still within the bounds of executive authority and doesn't cross into the kind of authoritarian behavior that led to the South Korean President’s downfall. That’s the key difference here. |
You gonna oust Trump? Good luck. |
The economy is turning into a raging dumpster fire. It cannot be denied or ignored. Republicans, you need to step the F up, find your spines, and run this administration out of town on a rail before he takes all of you and the rest of the country into the gutter.
PERIOD |
Are all your sacred cows being shattered? GOOD. |
We don't have enough integrity in America. Or at least half of us don't.

+1000 The posters here acting like Trump is some kind of a dictator are totally unhinged. |
He also installed a rogue organization (DOGE) to dismantle executive agencies against the authority of Congress. He had ICE try to deport legal residents who opposed him. |
