It is quite a cliquish area with a lot of mid 40’s first time moms trying to cling to their youth. Not the friendliest and have convinced themselves that they are the Real Housewives of the Kentlands. I would try somewhere else. |
RCES is no longer overcapacity, so rezoning to Dufief seems unwarranted now. |
100% misinformation |
This is really not true at all. We’ve been here for 10 years and have made some great friends. |
Yeah, because people stopped sending their kids there after realizing it isn’t that great. Doesn’t mean the other problems aren’t still there. |
| What are the problems with LPMS? New to the area. |
Too big, fighting, low academic standards. |
Fighting and low academic standards could be said about every MCPS middle school. |
You’re probably one of them. Mid 40’s, stuffed yourself into some random yoga pants, Starbucks cup in one hand at morning drop off, while vigorously waving to your child as though he is headed off to war. |
You seem like you need a therapist. I don’t wear yoga pants. I live in Vans sneakers and t-shirts. I’m in my mid-30s. I rarely go to Starbucks. I’m a musician who is active in the local Kentlands music scene. It’s a fun little scene where I’ve had a great time making friends while pursuing my hobby (and making some extra money). |
| Thanks to all of you who have provided your experiences with LPMS (and QO - those are welcome too!). I'm not really looking to learn about what moms are wearing or what they drink. I'd love to keep this conversation kind, respectful and focused on an honest perspective of the schools in this neighborhood. |
You could also look at the Richard Montgomery and Wootton clusters which are nearly. Fallsgrove goes to RM and is a nice neighborhood. |
It is VERY expensive to live in the Kentlands - hard to make it as a ‘musician,’ as you say, given what is likely a small ‘scene’ as you call it. I mean as far as footprints go, the Kentlands is about the size of my pinky finger nail-bed. I think you are likely one of the unemployed yoga pants moms. You just don’t want to admit it. It does sound better than calling yourself a musician who befriends other grifter musicians though. |
Umm … if you read what I wrote, I made clear that it’s a hobby. In addition to neighborhood gigs, I gig around MoCo and make $5-10K/year. It’s nice extra income. In fact, I’m playing at a bar in Columbia tonight. Speaking of hobbies: you’re a nasty person who could use a hobby yourself. |
