Brian Hull has left MCPS

Per WaPo:

"just this past weekend, chief operating officer Brian Hull left the school system.

On Monday, district spokeswoman Liliana López declined to specify the circumstances behind Hull’s departure, saying state law prevents the district from commenting on personnel matters."

What went down this weekend?

Why? He was dragged through the fire over the budget.

NP here. Can you explain what problems were with him? Have not been following that.

Probably best for the new superintendent to hire their own chief operating officer and chief of staff anyway. Especially since there isn't a deputy superintendent position anymore.

More than that.

I agree that the new superintendent should probably hire their own people and definitely needs to continue to look into the retaliation, mishandling of Beidleman, and coverup afterwards and who all was involved. There is a lot for him to do. It is odd to fire someone when you have one foot out the door and will be gone yourself in 15 days. Maybe they didn't want Hull talking to the new guy or something like that?

As a teacher I do not agree with her methodology of moving teachers around. This transfer process was severely bungled with many teachers being left off the priority lists for hire. She also has this grand idea to move teachers after the school year starts. She is not well liked.

Aside from not being qualified to run HR (she has ZERO education or certification in HR), she is a bully and a liar. She cannot to the job and HR has become a joke because she has no understanding of HR, staffing allocations, recruitment, or retention. She is mean to staff and retaliates against those she does not like. She is dangerous to the system because she is such a dishonest and unethical person combined with not understanding or knowing how to do the work. HR was already bad, and it is way worse since she became the chief.

What do you think about the new superintendent. This is good he left.

I’m not gonna miss him. We need to get rid of the old guard. This is not business as usual.
Does Dr. Johnson need help packing his suitcase.

Clean sweep of OSSWB would be helpful.

Once Jennifer Martin from the MCEA demanded his head, it was only a matter of time before he was out. Also, this budgeting process and ALL of its fumbles reflected really poorly on him.
