I showed DH the budget this morning, and we agreed to cancel a monthly coffee subscription and I told him I was going to cancel our wine club subscription after we get our next shipment next month.

We can realistically get both cheaper at the grocery store.

We actually set aside / locked in a HELOC for budget + 25%, so we have some margin, but I'd really like to finish within 10%. So far we've committed 3% over due to unexpected issues (remodeling a 70 year old house) or material selections over the allowances. I know the finishes are where we can go crazy if we don't force ourselves to stay reasonable, so trying to resist the urge to splurge on every nice lighting fixture or backsplash fanciness.
