I would consider your DD:
-contact her regional W&M rep by email with a brief note of her sincere interest -DD contact the main admissions email address with same -do any virtuals still on offer W&M indicates on the CDS interest is considered. But largely it is known that this is a school that really wants to feel the love. It's a wonderful place and they want to know the student is choosing it. Good luck! |

I was going to have her contact the music department with her videos and express her interest in studying music (voice) as double major with English or History. Also, to ask if she might take a lesson. I like all of the ideas to drop a line to the regional admissions as well as the main admissions officer to emphasize interest in William and Mary and to ask about any further dates for tours. I will have her take a look at the CDS as well. Thank you all!! |

Don't worry about this OP, I think it's way overstated here. My DD got in ED and none of her friends who are there with her did the interview (ED or RD). The slots fill up very quickly in the fall - I think they were gone by Sept. - so in reality not that many applicants actually do one. If W&M felt strongly about this, they'd make more slots available. |

Acapella groups are really popular at W&M -- and they regularly perform at various campus events so singers who are interested in doing that are pretty desirable students. I would encourage her to ask admissions about how to find out more about voice opportunities on campus. |

W&M is one of the few colleges left that actively does track admissions interest. If you can't make an in-person tour, here are some ideas.
- Attend a virtual information session and ask questions - Email/call your regional admissions officer - Request a senior interview via email - if you specifically ask for it and have good grades, they will probably give you one! The W&M admissions office are really friendly and will definitely take notice if you reach out. |
