| There are pockets of very diverse schools in the Oakton pyramid like Mosby Woods. Lots of World Bank types. There are UMC enclaves but some neighborhoods are near townhouses and apts/condos. Plenty of authentic international restaurants. |
| No homes in Vienna require bathroom exhaust fans. |
| Go to McLean or Great Falls OP. We Vienna folks might not be sophisticated enough for you. I swear DCUM never disappoints…. |
Mclean and Falls Church City have historically been where World Bank, State, and other international agencies employees and foreign diplomats have lived in Northern Virginia. The FCC school has been IB to accommodate that. Now though most of Mclean and FCC is law firm partners and Tyson’s executives because of the very high real estate prices. But the international culture has endured. |

| What is UMC? |
United Methodist Church |
| Uniform Mechanical Code |
| It's also unsophisticated hipster slang for "upper middle class". |
| OP no they’re unsophisticated, they have butlers but they’re in poly triads. |
Are mclesn and FCC friendly? |
| We live in oakton in a $3m home. We chose this location for the balanced, competitive public schools and the central location with low density neighborhood. Yes… we could have lived in GF, McLean, Dc but this location works best for us. Our NW is approximately $10m, with est $800k annual income. Our neighbors are the typical licensed professionals (doc, dentist, tons of attorneys), business owners, and the occasional C-suite exec, etc. |
It’s kind of cringe and the opposite of sophisticated to feel motivated to share all this personal financial data. |
| Foreigner here- lived in Vienna and Falls Church City. Found FCC to be much more open to foreigners. 1/4 of my neighbors are lawyers, and almost all have post-grad degrees. I don't know about the sophisticated part though. Depends on what you are looking for, I guess. |
| Where is Oakton, is that part of Reston? |
