Well you democrats sure are rewarding Putin by jacking up oil prices, Russia's number one export. Add to that shutting down pipelines here while approving pipelines from Russia into Europe. Youngkin isn't the problem. |
I live in NY and am subjected to a relentless stream of NJ gubernatorial race ads. The democratic incumbent's scare tactic is to tie the republican candidate to Trump.....which makes sense because not-Trump seems to be the only thing that animates the left. But the add features Trump saying that Covid presents very little danger to young children and then features the republican candidate paraphrasing the same thought. But the thing that drives me nuts is that the freaking CDC will tell you that Covid presents very little danger to young children. The ad makes zero sense yet runs every 15 minutes on network television. Politics is insanely stupid. |
So because oil prices are up, we should excuse the GOP trying to ditch democracy in America? Nonsequiter, Bro. |
Ah, the “-uck your feelings” people are suddenly concerned about feelings. Hey, GOP voters, aka “moderate Dem”s or “a Dem (who just happens to disagree with everything Democratic and spouts GOP talking points but is totally a Dem)”, this is fascism. This is why we make fun of you, call you authoritarian and racist. |
So far a couple of posters had claimed the Democrats also use scare tactics and the example is, and all of the post, that democratic way to Republic candidate with Trump. But aren’t these candidates indeed been supported by Trump? So where is the lie? And if you think that is the only scare tactics being used by the Democrat, that’s not much of a scare tactic, it’s the truth. Just goes back to, the Republicans are using scare tactics and Democrats are not. |
Republicans don’t actually have any ideas for governance, so scare tactics are all they have. A significant portion of their base operates at chimp level so their fear tactics are very effective at driving turnout. |
Sometimes I wish the Democrats would also base entire political campaigns around strawmen arguments and go on the attack for once.
Fight dirty. |
Books are full of scary ideas. Oh the humanity! Seriously though, I think scare tactics are pretty much the norm in politics now. The weird thing is that the scariest thing to both parties is the other party. I'm so sick of the mentality of people approaching politics like a sport. My team good, your team bad, etc. Things don't get done unless both parties work together and find common ground and that's not going to happen unless the electorate reflects those same ideals. |
