I'm fairly active on several other forums/message boards/listservs and this is the first time I've ever seen such a clear majority of anonymous posters. I can see why some people want to stay anonymous so they can leave snarky/mean/generally unhelpful comments; but what about the rest of you ?

If the goal of such message boards is to build community, wouldn't it be easier to do so if people had usernames ? It seems confusing to me when posters are trying to refer back to other posters, but out of 10 posters participating in a discussion, 9 of them are anonymous.
