Hi there,

Thanks for the reply. The on-site program has space for one not both of my girls. And, I'll call the Day School.

Thanks again!
Hello All,

School starts in two weeks, and -- having just moved to the area -- I'm scrambling to secure after school care for my soon-to-be 1st and 5th graders. I live in north Bethesda, near the Grosvenor metro (red line), and I'm seeking a reliable babysitter/nanny to meet the children when they get off the bus, start homework with them and begin to prepare dinner. The hours are roughly 2:30 - 6:30, Monday to Friday. The pay is negotiable. Ideally this person's native language is English or is very proficient in Engligh, so as to be of help with homwork. If you, or anyone you know, are interested, please reply.

Or, alternatively, if you have any helpful information about after school programs or private arrangements for students attending Garrett Park, I would greatly appreciate your insight!

Many thanks,
Kathryn

That far along in my last pregnancy (#2), I couldn't eat later in the day because I had awful acid reflux that triggered vomiting. There literally was little room for food. so I ended up eating tiny meals all day and not eating after 5. That way when I laid down to go to bed, the reflux wouldn't trigger a run to the bathroom. I know this isn't exactly what you're describing. But the best I can suggest is eating little meals -- you need to get some nutrition in you. And I would call your friend and tell her what's up so she understands why you won't be able to consume all the courses she's lovingly prepared.
We're expecting our third child and couldn't be happier -- but for the fact that my favorite OB has moved too far away. The practice she left, headquartered at WHC with a smaller office on F St., has become too impersonal and busy in the four years since I last delivered.

Can you recommend a small, patient-focused practice, run by a doctor(s) with good bed-side manner and a sense of humor? I live in SE and work downtown, so I'm amenable to a practice in the District or Northern Virginia. I had terrific experiences at WHC and Alexandria INOVA, so either hospital would be ideal. And, during my first pregnancy I worked with a mid-wife, at the practice now solely run by Dr. Bridges, so a midwife suggestion would also be great.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

While I don't have risky pregnancies, I do tend to be miserable most of the time with intense nausea and vomiting, so really love a little TLC. As it is I called my current docs office at 9 this morning seeking relief, and 8 hours later no one has called me back!

Thank you!
