Our son just started attending Spring Bilingual which is on Plyers Mill Road. He enjoys going and has been sounding out words and counting in spanish so we know he is absorbing a lot there. The cost is about $10,000 for the year for full time.
I do not have firsthand experience but I heard good things about the Family Daycare Academy in Bethesda. We wanted to go there but we realized it was not logistically feasible when we moved. They are located on east-west highway. The lists are pretty insane so put your name down early.
We have my son at a daycare and overall we are happy with the care (which includes one-on-one spanish lessons and fun activities). Lately though, we noticed more teacher turnover in the room and are a bit concerned. When my son first entered May of last year, he had two consistent teachers for about 6 months. They both left (one to go full time to finish school and the other for more money at another place), and the past 7 months, the teachers will be assigned the his room for several months, only to either leave the center or be moved to another room. There also seems to be more daily switching of teachers, as I think they are short staffed so they move them based on the ratios (i.e., if the number of children in my son's room drops, the teacher will leave for another room and vice versa).

I know there is high turnover in the industry but my son did so much better when there were consistent teachers (coming home and talking about Meagan and Monica). Now I have noticed he doesn't want to go to "school" which is hard on everyone. I want to talk to the daycare but before I do, what are realistic expectations for teacher tenure?
