Hi everyone! I'm a student at AU working on a research project about how families in Washington, D.C. receive and understand information about education policies — things like changes to school standards, decisions from the State Board of Education, and how different education agencies communicate with parents and guardians.

D.C. has one of the most complex education systems in the country. Between DCPS, public charter schools, OSSE, and the State Board of Education, there are a lot of agencies making decisions that impact students. I'm trying to figure out whether families actually know who does what, where you go when you want information about policy changes, what makes it hard to stay informed, and whether that experience differs depending on what ward you live in or what language is spoken at home.

If you're a parent or guardian of a school-age child in Washington, D.C., I'd really appreciate 3 minutes of your time. The survey is completely anonymous, includes an informed consent page, and is only 13 questions. I'm hoping to hear from families across all 8 wards so the results actually represent the whole city.

If this doesn't apply to you but you know D.C. parents, I'd be really grateful if you could pass it along. Thank you so much — every response genuinely helps!
