Nothing yet except an email that said we would hear this week. I’m sure it will be later in the week….
We went and it seemed fine. There are some awesome players in this age group! We were in the 6:30 to 7:45 time slot. I really have no idea what it all means…there were 4 groups I believe and the two closest to the parking lot were solid. The groups tonight definitely looked like the stronger ones as compared to last weekend. Guess we hear this week which color teams they are all in.

Yeah we got the reject email for my daughter…but nothing for the son. Different ages though. Good suggestion! I checked just in case…nothing.

Oh also good to know!!! So they are definitely still working on it. Wow!

Thanks! Good to know we’re not alone…though I wish they would answer the email since it’s the only way they say you can get in touch. We will continue to wait it out…but tough when you have other offers. Good luck to your son! Tuesday has some really strong players so it is weird no one has heard back.
I have a 2014 boy who tried out on that Monday and then was called back for another view on Tuesday. We’ve heard nothing since…so it’s been a week. I emailed Arlington and haven’t heard anything from that either. Have any new U10 boys gotten offers? Was there another round of call backs this week? We’re not very patient Thanks!

Just sharing that we had a very similar experience at the three tryouts for our son with 9U boys. By the end of Sunday, he was playing on the field with the returning players. (We know a returning player.)

We haven't heard anything either from Arlington, other than the email on Monday saying by EOW.

We actually got an offer this morning from another club, and I emailed Arlington this morning to ask when they'd send notifications. No response yet. (Our friend with the returning player hasn't gotten an offer yet either.)

Hopefully tomorrow?

So we got the girl's U9 email--- daughter didn't make it. Like I said above, she is only 6 and in kindergarten but for some reason the tryouts were open to those born in 2016. I thought she did so well....but we will continue with rec for now. She can't tryout for ADP b/c she doesn't make birthday cutoff. Still don't get why she was allowed travel tryout but not ADP.....gonna be a sad convo to have after school today

So sorry to hear that. But that is a great sign for next year's tryouts!

Aww thanks--- yeah she has plenty of time! I'm glad we had the experience this year to know what to expect for next year.

So sorry to hear that! ASA runs their Rec and ADP leagues by school year (to keep things more fun/with friends), while Travel is by birth year - subject to national and regional standards. Your daughter can try out next year though, and with the added experience of knowing what the tryouts are like, and with another year of Rec, good chance she'll be even stronger for it next year. Not all bad!

Yeah she will initially be upset b/c she's ....6. But I am ok with it.....If she continues to love it, we will just try out again next year. And whatever....she can continue to be a kindergarten rec beast.

Just to close the loop here. We did get an offer from Arlington this morning, which we're going to accept.

Congrats!!!!! I hope more people post their results.... then it really gives everyone a better sense of what to make of these tryouts and what it all means. Even though my daughter didn't make it, I have become such a fan and was really all in. I never in my life played soccer and now at 44, I have a new favorite sport lololol
goaliemomnova wrote:Same -- I just found the email in my junk -- neither of my kids made it either!

Oh I’m sorry!!! Such a bummer!!!! I love and hate the competition…as a mom it’s hard too.

Oh and since some of us have multiple kids doing tryouts, I'll just ask! My daughter did the three day U9 girl tryouts. She is only 6 and in kindergarten but she was born within the cut-off date. Anyway--- unlike my son, she is a natural who looks like she has been coached. She kicked butt.....I could not believe. Pretty sure she was the youngest and the smallest out there but for those three days, they moved her around probably 10 or more times. She stayed mostly with bigger older girls (which I thought was interesting) and they knew her name on the second and third days when she checked in without her saying it. The last tryout was Sunday and we have not heard anything.....has anyone else or heard of anyone getting U9 girl offers? I really thought she was amazing and didn't question once whether she could hold her own....but she is 6 and in kindergarten and has time I guess to do travel. But she can't do ADP b/c she isn't old enough and she dominates her rec team. Any info for U9 out there?
So for what it is worth--- I can add a piece of info. My U10 9 year old tried out on Monday and I honestly thought he didn't do all that great. He's 9 and just started living and breathing soccer in November after the World Cup. He's a super quick learner, passionate, and on the ball. He's playing rec where he is actually really good! But Monday night...... I could see he really needed some coaching and training with his footwork. I told him he did great and we would see what what they said. Honestly, I expected nothing. We got home at like 7:30 and by 9:30, there was an email asking him to come back on Tuesday for a callback. We went on Tuesday and there were maybe 15 kids from Monday night. They were split into two groups and they played the travel kids during their practice. He did better on Tuesday.....still could see he was never really coached but he was aggressive and really tried. Today is Thursday and haven't heard anything yet..... not even sure what Tuesday was all about. The kids they pulled seemed to be somewhere between moderately good and "advanced" rec level. Maybe they were looking for more black and gold players....or adding a team below gold? We do not mind AT ALL being a lower team b/c he has to learn somewhere. If he ends up being good, I would guess they'd move him up. Anyway--- just another layer....hasn't been totally crickets for all of us at Monday's tryouts.
