Teams operate somewhat independently and coaches have a lot of freedom to do whatever they want. With this new partnership a few VYS coaches will be coming in to coach a few ECNL teams probably the younger ones which will have the most VYS players accepted. I think for the most part BRYC coaches would have retained their teams at the older ages but there are going to be a few new coaches on both the girls and boys side. In addition there will be at least one practice per week in Vienna area. These BRYC coaches don't like this new setup so they have decided to threaten to leave and take their teams with them. If the parents of the top players follow these coaches to NVU - I think this will be a disaster for the players as they will not be playing in a competitive league anymore and also for this partnership. Messy situation. I hear parents talking about the teams applying for MLS Next. That is not going to happen for such a long time and the BRYC teams are not strong enough to even be accepted. There is not a single BRYC boys team that is in the top half of the standings. All of this is due to disgruntled coaches convincing parents to make a decision that is not in the best interest of their players. Sad

It Is What It Is. Would be disasters for both ways on boys, combining or breaking away.

This is VYS Boys overview in ECNL RL Virginia North. (8 teams)

with this list, probably "best interest of their players" only for U13 age group.

Current BRYC in ECNL MA 18 teams.

Anyway, for BOYS!!!, VYS does not stand out in EDP play, and with some previous VYS players on BYRC ECNL teams already, I do believe VYS replacing BRYC for ECNL is getting lower performance, if most BRYC BOYS players moving to NVU.

The initial concept is to consolidate, but with what is happening for BOYS side, it basically introduced a new NVU club into Nothern Virgina boys' landscape. Good or bad, time will tell.
I feel it is going to be a bad thing, well, I only care about my boy, to make things easy he may go alone with NVU. sadly, no option is better than another.

What changes for your son with this partnership? If BRYC boys are better, the team stays in tact. Maybe grab a VYS player or two. But nothing changes for the boys. Unless the coaches are upset about this. Which I'm having a tough time seeing the "why" in the outrage. You have go where you're player will grow of course. But this all seems like there is something else going on? Why are the coaches so pissy? It feels little manufactured outrage for some reason - not by you, but by others on this thread. I'll never know, I don't have a boy playing any longer. But I do have girl playing and everyone is happy for this to happen.

Finally, we met, boys side and girls side parents from current BRYC ECNL.
I would say it is different from BRYC boys, an afterthought of BRYC, we (means coaches, players) were not treated the same by the BRYC. Not I care about those small things, when it comes to the future, people will spoke out.
You may not know what has happened on boys' side or what will happen on the boys' side. As for my understanding, BRYC Boys' Travel program will be gone after this May. Most boys' coaches will be gone. (As they said), what the impact is SOME OF BRYC Boys ECNL players moving to NVU, I would say at least 50%.

We could discuss the percentage of player movement you think.

So having a boy in the shuffle, what is my choice?

1: going with ECNL badge (mainly VYS) and experiencing degraded team performance in ECNL for 2022-2023 season?
-- Maybe the BRAVE team will survive ECNL?
-- what if BRAVE got boot out? My boy settling down at VYS.

2: going with NVU and playing EDP, same shit, and MOst likely also degrade team performance
-- are those coaches trustable, one years or years in the future?
-- Comfortable at EDP may not / may necessarily fit my boy?

in All, BRYS boys travel is gone. I can image all boys go to VYS and SYC/Burke.
