Looks like lots of spirited dialogue. Here is what I am seeing and hearing from these posts:

1. BRYC needs to improve its performance in ECNL
2. BRYC girls are far under performing in ECNL
3. BRYC girls were put on probation
4. BRYC Girls would benefit most from a local deal with VYS
5. BRYC Boys perform better than BRYC girls
6. BRYC Boys could benefit from different partnerships
7. BRYC has decided to do a merger with VYS on both sides
8. BRYC did not listen to consult with Boys ECNL leadership
9. BRYC may not have taken this to a proper vote per 503C rules
10. BRYC may have a non-valid board based on lack of elections protocol
11. BRYC boys do not agree with this move and have a petition
12. BRYC did not engage membership until the late hour

All of the other back and forth aside that seems to be more subjective than objective, I would put forth the following suggestions / conclusions:

1. BRYC senior leaders handled this poorly
2. BRYC leaders should call a board meeting and invite their membership
3. BRYC should allow for a vote on open board seats by its members per bylaws
4. BRYC should allow for a vote on this merger / partnership by its members per bylaws
5. BRYC should consult ECNL Boys and ECNL girls leadership for guidance

Academy is "BRYC" in name only; the rec program is part of BRYC nonprofit proper, correct? The ECNL and NCSL access the "BRYC" name has is through the .com. Why would there be any board approval necessary for the for-profit side to run their business?

IMO, this move is also looking ahead because while, performance-wise, BRYC may be on notice by ECNL (no idea if that's true or not), there aren't enough players in the 2011 pool to field a team in BRYC partly because there are three bridge teams cannibalizing the 2011 players. This move ensures they will have enough to roster a 2011 team in ECNL when they become age-eligible because they can fill-out the roster with VYS players as well as of course any players from other clubs that wish to try out.

Regarding your obsession with the boys, if BRYC coaches are going to head up the ECNL team they don't have to pick any VYS players if they don't think they're good enough. Just as they don't have to pick any of the BRYC pool players either. There are no player quotas required from BRYC or VYS for the BRAVE rosters.

Also, for the boys, the TD was just hired as an assistant by GMU. Maybe he is going to be moving on anyway.

Good question on 503C by the PP. I just looked that up. It has nothing to do with the .org or .com URL. One can be a 503C and have a .com URL. Loudoun Soccer is a .com. But, here is the publicly available tax filing for BRYC as a organization. Note, you can look up any of the clubs in our area this way to understand their revenues, salaries of key officers, etc. It is a requirement of all 503C's to post their tax filings online for public scrutiny as they are deemed as non profit entities.

When you scroll you will see all sports commissioners are listed as officers and directors. This suggests that that BRYC Travel soccer academy is tucked under the BRYC overall 503C umbrella.

Seems like BRYC treachery at an all-time high with Soccer Commissioner Dolansky. This is ENTIRELY a move to save bottom-of-the-barrel girls ECNL. They are on probation. The boys program is in good standing and VYS boys is bottom of ECNL-R. It's a joke. Dolansky has gone to ECNL girls and posed the merger -- and it is a merger at the ECNL level. They are creating a new corporation and BRYC ECNL will be gone and called BRAVE (Braddock Road and Vienna ECNL). VYS has already told its membership too. As if this is a done deal. The title of the thread says so, right?

The problem? BRYC's board is illegitimate. They have not had an election since 2019. They are not fully formed even if you ignore the expired terms. And, obviously, they have not gotten approval of the Board, illegitimate or not. The first word any of the paying members got of the secret maneuverings from Dolansky and 2 board members was yesterday. The BRYC Boys TD told Dolansky that VYS is not a good club to partner with/merge with at the ECNL level. Affiliations were preferred. VYS doesn't have the talent and they don't have a surplus of fields. So what are they bringing on the boys side? Nothing.

So without a Board vote, member disclosure (much less, buy-in), and without a Board at all as they're all past term and operating without quorums, Dolansky hatches a plan anyway for both BRYC ECNL boys and girls. It was not needed or wanted on the boys side. They are run separately, as is ECNL. The notion that somehow the Boys program needs VYS is such a joke. How someone could completely disregard BRYC ECNL leadership and basically tell them to shut up and take it, and expect that the staff and the talent would be okay is beyond me. It's insane.

So make no mistake, it's a merger. BRYC ECNL Boys and Girls would be no more. Ethics don't matter. Board by-laws apparently don't matter. I'm guessing COVID will be the excuse. Which also is a crock. This is a dirty deal without any disclosure, support, or sanity. Period. If the talent and staff leave, what makes folks think the license stays?

I hope ECNL sees through this. Apparently, they've been told. You have to feel bad for BRYC ECNL boys families, in particular. Talk about lighting your multi-year investment on fire. The disinformation on this board acting like "all is well" is laughable.

I'm not sure we have the same definition of "good standing" unless you just meant with the ECNL board as opposed to their results. It's not hard to see that the BRYC ECNL boys are fairing slightly better than the girls, but every team with exception of U14 has a losing record and is near or at the bottom of the table. A merger or affiliation that convinces a few new players to check them out instead of Mclean on the other side of them doesn't mean the current BRYC boys have to leave. The whole point in the BRYC is expanding the reach for talent in order to compete better.

Girls ECNL standings and Records (out of 14 clubs)
U13 Girls: 14th place (last). 0 wins and 15 losses
U14 Girls: 14th place (last). 0 wins and 14 losses
U15 Girls: 14th place (last). 1 win, 11 losses, and 1 tie
U16 Girls: 10th place. 3 wins, 7 losses, and 2 ties
U17 Girls: 13th place (2nd to last). 0 wins. 9 losses. 4 ties.
U18/18 Girls: 9th place: 3 wins, 7 losses, 2 ties.

Combined Record:
7 wins (9%) 63 losses (80%) 9 ties (11%)

Boys ECNL standings and Records (out of 18 clubs)
U13 Boys: 16th place. 3 wins, 11 losses
U14 Boys: 8th Place. 7 wins, 6 losses, 1 tie.
(Note: U14 is Champions League qualified at present)
U15 Boys: 13th place: 3 wins, 4 losses, 5 ties.
U16 Boys: 13th place: 3 wins, 7 losses, 2 ties.
U17 Boys: 18th place (last). 0 wins. 9 losses. 3 ties.
U18/19 Boys: 16th place. 1 win. 7 losses. 4 ties.

Combined Record:
17 wins (22%) 44 losses (58%) 15 ties (20%)

From a league-to-league comparison perspective, these figures would suggest that the boys side is far more statistically successful than the girls. The boys will win or tie 42% of the time. The girls will win or tie 20% of the time. Thus the boys are 2X more successful at obtaining points. Looks as if (as noted by someone else here on this thread) that their top performing team is the 2008 U14 Boys - across the entire club when you look at the results noted above. The second best would be the U16 girls. While none of this suggests that either side is not in need for improvement, it does suggest that the girls ECNL program is in terrible shape. If you rewind approximately 3 years ago, the girls side was statistically more successful. Their 02, 03, and 06 teams if I recall were solid. The 02 and 03 teams were in Seattle for the ECNL National Championships as I saw them there when we were out there. The 03 team won the Mid Atlantic ECNL several years. I think many of those teams either graduated (02/03) and or left for VDA (03/06). That means the girls side has slid down in performance a tremendous amount in just 24 months and at the youngest ages (U13-15) they are absolutely in trouble with 1 win, 1 tie, and 54 losses.
