My son 11yrs tried out and made an academy team which is one of the best in the region. WE just moved to the area in July. However he was met with a toxic environment from teammates and has been unable to overcome it. He no longer wants to go to practice, much less games. Should he just gut it out. He's at his breaking point and has physical manifestations to the frustration/anxiety he feels. I've reached out to the coach, but just crickets. Is it best to move on? Appreciate any input.
SYC Mission statement:Springfield/South County Youth Club provides athletic programs for boys and girls ages 4 to 19 that promote character development, good sportsmanship, and exemplary behavior... Something is amiss if these character flaws are consistently displayed by its players.
I see that they are going to have at least one girls' Super Y team. Anyone know if they are planning on fielding teams beyond that? My son plays elsewhere, but the location could be a good option for him for the summer.
Talking about SUPER-Y. The profileration of teams announcing that they're holding tryouts IMHO means that they're looking at it as a recruiting tool. Remember how teams pushed up tryouts to April to get a leg up on other teams, so players had to committ early well now they have a glimpse of the talent available in Jan-Feb and get their name out there. .. Marketing 101.
