Can any of you give me some information about your experiences with Sela? If your littles attended, or if you've already visited the school, what was your experience?
I'm listing Sela as one of my 12 as well
I'm listing Sela as one of my 12 also.
Yup, I actually just applied to LAMB this morning. This will give additional options. I'm going to also apply to Bethune if my tour with them goes well.
Also, DCB is literally like a few blocks from my new apartment (modern at art place). To be honest, I didn't list DCB because I really want her school to be as diverse as possible. If I can. I'd like a good mix of all ethnic backgrounds. I know in DC it's hard in some cases. My daughter is a young black girl, so if I could get her into a school with all ethnicities represented well, that's what I'm aiming for. I'd like her school experience to be as close to the real world experience as possible.
This is all so helpful thank you so very much for all your suggestions. I'm going to do research on the schools you all recommended.
I wrote the post before anyone told me anything about a master number.

But thank you.
Also, the DC Lottery website indicates it doesn't matter how early you submit your application as long as it's done prior to the March 1 deadline. Is this also true?
Yikes. The master number is the number you're assigned once you submit? Sorry, I'm new to this lol.
So with that said, is it even worth listing any of the "popular" schools on your lottery then?
My daughter's in bound school is Backus. The ratings for this school are poor, from what I'm reading. I was going to list them...but as selection 12.
smh dam really?! The stress of all this!
Can any parents give me information about these three schools and the probability of getting into one of them? This lottery process is super stressful.

I'm moving into DC in March from PG County so I'm learning about the lottery system. These three schools are my top three choices for my daughter who will be in prek-4 in Sept., but these schools also seem extremely difficult to get into. I'm wondering if it's even worth me adding them to my lottery. I don't want to waste one of my choices on a school that is dam near impossible to get her into. Advice?
Thank you!
Hello everyone! Has anyone ever NOT had any of their lottery choices selected? What is the likelihood of this happening?
