Hi Moms, we just moved to Arlington and have found a spot for our 2 yo DS at these 3 locations. Couldn't find recent reviews of the place; please can you share your experiences with the Teachers & Director, Hygiene/ Safety, Activities etc. We have to make a decision soon and since I'm new to the area don't know any current parents all your posts will be very helpful. Thank you!
Thanks all for the responses. We picked Arlington because the rents in DC area are so high for a 3 bedroom we have a lot of family visiting us all the time.

I will be doing the do/pu and I agree I want it to be close to home and close to the metro stop so I can do and go to work and vice versa.

I would also pick a corporate childcare center over home because my friend had a couple of incidents and although I dont want to judge all in home day cares that has really made me nervous about it. In Chicago we dont have a lot of in home daycares.

I'll go through the preschool and daycare forum as well. Thanks again and keep the responses coming.

Hi DC Moms, we are moving next week to D.C. with our 2 yr old son. We have corporate housing near Pentagon City Metro for 2 months and my office is near Dupont Circle - Hoping to find a rental somewhere in Arlington but our first priority is finding the right daycare for him. Right now hes at a full-time daycare and he loves so would love to keep that routine. appreciate all the help and advice. Thanks!
Yes, no driving for sure because I dont get parking and it is an additional 250 a month so Ill stick to public transport

These links are amazing, even the military owner link - thank you - we have a lot of start with and go from there.

I do realize the housing is different here and the rents are much higher too but so excited about this gorgeous area we will make it all work
We are moving from Lakeview too I'll def look into the neighborhoods

We will be renting for the first year to get a feel of the city .. I'm nervous about finding a 3bdr as well but we will have family/Grandparents visiting so we need the space ... Another mom mentioned Arlington/ rosslyn area as well - I will check it out.

These are great tips!! you all are super helpful - Thank you so so much
Thanks so much!

Rental Budget - 3bdr place for 3200$

Son will be 2 in Sept

Appreciate you help!

Hi DC Moms,

I recently switched roles for my company and we are moving to the DC Area in September from Chicago. I'm so excited but I've never visited & don't know anyone so I'm very lost and overwhelmed.

My company will give me 2 months of housing before we find a permanent home but I want to enroll him in the daycare right from the start so he doesn't have to move again.

Areas to live: Where should we live that is within 30 mins commute max to Dupont Circle? Any good communities?

Is it true that all daycares have long waiting lists? My son is at a daycare now and he loves it so I'm hoping to find something similar, any recommendations?

We live in the city now and are used to taking the CTA everywhere - any tips will help! Thanks a lot in advance!
