The worst yellow teeth I ever saw was from drinking tea.
I'd worry at 50 and younger about dating an older woman. There are of course exceptions but amongst now 55+ female friends and the little dating I've done, there does seem to be a lot of bitterness.
Not fed, 62 $575 in 401k (no matching) plus another $340 in other accounts. Paid at a high GS-12 level. Spent my last 20 years putting in the maximum and saving/investing on the side. Keeping a good blend between bonds 30%, small 20%, mid 20%, large 30% and savings saved me from anything over 20-25% short term loses in 2000 and 2008-2009.

I would recommend always investing outside your "retirement" program at work. Wish I had done more in early 2009 when stocks were just rebounding, tripled my investment in 6 months. Brought utilities and premium stocks with good dividends. Dividends are a great income supplement once you retire, you get quarterly money even if the market is flat.

If the interest rate ever increases I'll consider municipal and state bonds. Right now indexes seem to be as volatile as the market so I haven't invested there.

Date and have fun. Don't marry, protect your assets and retirement.

I tend to agree, I don't think you mentioned the child's age but consider when you'd like to retire and will they still be in college.

Please elaborate. I feel this way too. I have no more power. Younger people, men in particular, look right through me. Nothing I've accomplished seems to mean anything because I'm too old, so last week.

Do you think men feel the same?
I'm guessing not, which makes me super sad.

Yes ladies, it's much the same for most men. Perhaps in certain career positions one can maintain their sense of power but most not as you get over 50-55.
Sorry for the negative bend on the post. In the last month despite constantly increasing prices I've bought a number of items at the Safeway in Potomac Village and frozen items have been defrosted and refrozen. Dry goods such as crackers/chips have at least 1/3 broken into small pieces. Produce is sad and pricing garlic by the head rather than weight.

I'm now shopping mostly at Asian markets (varies on my travels) for produce, Costco for meats and dry goods.

Where are you shopping and what are your dislikes?
