Hello
I had 1hour tets done last week and the nurse called asking me to do 3-hour test, because my first test came elevated. Is here anybody who had to do both tests and the second test proved that no gestational diabetes is present? i.e. coul the first test be kind of false positive?
Anonymous wrote:I would discuss your concerns with the OB - you may be able to try to decrease the terbutaline and see if you still have contractions (will require being monitored). The balanec is that at 25 weeks many babies, though not all, have serious complications. You and your OB have a balancing act for a few more weeks.

I am not sure I understand what you mean saying that at 25 weeks most babies have complications??
Thanks all for our input.
I do listen to myslef very closely. I am only trying to get some idea if this happenned to anybody else.
I had tightening for one day and the next day i called Ob and was admittd to hospital (i.e. I do not think I tolerated it too long or was neglecting them as prior posters assumed). In the hospital they did US and found cervix long and closed. in three days I again saw the OB and she did manual check of the cervix, it was still tight. She ordered me to go for another US which is this Monday. So far I am staying home, have terbutaline about every 12-15 hours (the OB said as needed). I just do not feel comfortable having those BH.
I did talk to the doctor, she does not seem to be too worried. And I am definitely going to see her tomroow, get US referal and make sure things do not change.
I just thought to see if nay of you on the forum had Brxtons and how they coped
Hello
I am at 25 weeks now. About 3-4 days ago I sterted experiencing veeery light feeling of tightening of my belly. I would touch it and feel it is a bit hard, sometimes pretty hard. They admitted me to the hospital to check on contarctions, over 1.5 hrs there were 2 very mild ups on the monitor. They gave me a shot and the contarctions went away. They also did US and cervix seemed to be long and close . They release me home.
Over the weekeend I did have very mild tightenings. I was given tablts of turbutaline 5mg. Once I take one, it lasts me for about 12 hours without a single contraction, no matter if I am in the bed or walking around.

Did any of you have someting like that? How would I kow when to panic and call to be seen in the hospital and when to stay quite and admit these things as Braxtons?
Are there any known good peds in McLean area?
Does anybody know about CryoCell company? they seem to be cheaper and also they are in the market for longer time than ViaCord or CBR...
I am also very interested in picking the right company. Why did you decide to go with only these 2? which company is more reputable? Does anybody know how much in advance (before the baby born) I need to start the process?
So I guess it worth finding a ped prior delivery but not really make an appointment or call him/her after the delivery. I will probably have no time to find when when I am discharged and before the first appointment.
Thanks
Thanks for all the replies. I am from russia. I am going to see the ophtalmologist, but not sure even how to explain what needs to be checked. I can understand why Ob would be worry. I thhink when you push really hard which is the case when you are in labor, it applies pressure on your arteries, veins etc, and probably if you have weak eyes muscles (that's how you get myopia) they maybe impacted by pushing... On the ohter hand I would think that here in US doctors would know if it was the case.
Hello
I am near-sighted (myopia -6), So I wear contacts. From my childhood I was kind of told that I would have to have c-section because my vision is poor and I will not be able to push hard as it may result in blindness. That is still the info in the country where I am from. My cousin delivered there last year and her OB requested a signed letter from vision doctor to cofnirm that she would be ok doing natural irth. When I spoke about it here in AMerica, the OB was surprised and said she never heard of this before. I am due in march. Was anybody ever told about poor sight and delivery problem??

I have 2 other friends who are expecting, and their OBs also were surprised by this statement.
Hello
I am 23 weeks now. I just want to know whether I will have to have my own pediatrician in the hospital or they will have somebody in the hospital at the time of delivery and while in the hospital after the delivery?
I am not sure if I need to select a pediactrician myslef and call him when going in labor? How it works generally?
