Touchy-feely doctor?

My doctor is very friendly, maybe a little bit "touchy feely". At my last appointment he wiped under my eye (as if wiping away an eyelash) and then cupped my cheek (near my ear) in his hand.

I have no idea what to make of this! What would you think if this happened to you? I do like him and feel we communicate and get along very well, but it's hard to read his intentions when he does something like this. Is this normal behavior for a PCP appointment?

Doctor here. No, this does not seem normal unless you were in some kind of distress and it was done in a very avuncular manner. If there was any trace of tenderness you need to switch PCPs.

Here’s how a PCP shows he cares about you: takes time to listen to you, remembers you and your history, and gives good advice that takes into account everything he knows about your medical history and personal preferences. Touching and crossing boundaries means he’s sleazy and immoral.

This. I have to say, even if he liked you this would be the wrong way to approach it.

Not ok. Report him and change doctors. I am sure he is doing that with other patients and clinic staff too.

I started this thread. He is not old (he's my age) and I'm unsure of his relationship status.
