TTC after D&C

| My doctor told me to wait two cycles after my D&C last week following a miscarriage at 8 weeks. I am curious what other people have been told. I have heard of others waiting up to 6 months, and some people trying immediately. What is normal? |

I am very sorry for your loss.
I was told to wait a month. I had D&C at 10 weeks. |

| Sorry you are going through this. I had a d&c in early Dec. My RE advised waiting for two cycles after getting first AF before ttc. I have been doing estrogen priming protocol, so started my priming in the LP of the second cycle and then stims after the third full AF. |

My MW and a DR recommended waiting for the return of one period before trying. While I did this, I don't think it is actually necessary for the physical recovery, though the wait was the right fit for me for emotional reasons.
FWIW, the D&C was at 10+ weeks (baby measured 8.5), period returned at just over 4 weeks, and I did get pregnant again right away. |

I didn't have a D&C, had misoprostol instead. Was told to wait 2 cycles, waited 3 bc of timing (dh was away). It's been 6 months and my cycles are not right there yet....
I was 11 weeks with a missed miscarriage, embryo was 6 weeks |

| I was advised to wait one cycle. If I wasn't 40 I think I'd probably have waited a bit longer but we're back on the horse again... |

PP here. I also meant to say that I had a D&C at 9 weeks (baby measured 7 weeks). |

| My doctor said to wait til after my "first normal period." I had a D&C at 11+ weeks (baby measured around 8 wks), period returned after 6 weeks. We started trying, but I had a longer than usual cycle in which I'm not sure I even ovulated. Then had what seemed like a normal period and tried again. Am currently in the TWW, so we'll see. |

| D&C at 12 weeks, baby measured @ 8-9 weeks. Doctor told us to wait two cycles. My period came back 5 weeks later and we waited 3 cycles (I wanted to get the swine flu shot first). We got pregnant again our first time out. I'm at 24 weeks now, so just be patient and hopefully you'll be pregnant again soon!! Good luck. |

I was told to wait one cycle, which we did. After the second, pregnant again. Good luck!

D&C at 9 weeks, told it was best to wait one cycle.. but I understood the waiting to be more for piece of mind, especially if you did get pregnant again. If you don't wait for a cycle, it is hard to date the pregnancy so there can be more worry and stress... especially if you had a previous pregnancy that stop progressing.
