Carmax Extended Warranty

Looking for real-life feedback on Carmax Maxcare. I’ve never bought from Carmax before.

I've purchase five cars from Carmax over the past 16 years. I got Maxcare on all of them, but I only had to use it twice. The sunroof stopped working in one car, and one of the headlights had a short in another car. Each time, I dropped the car off in the AM and it was done by the time I got off work.

Bought it and used it as well. Seemed to work.

What does it cover and is it worth it? Any issues with any of the dealers you want to take it to?

I don't remember off the top of my head, but I know that the list of what it doesn't cover is much shorter than the list of what it does. Things like fluids, brakes, and bulbs aren't covered. Also stuff from accidents wouldn't be covered. Just about everything else is covered. The cigarette lighter/charger stopped working, and they would've fixed it but I didn't have time to go before my warranty expired. Also, when I sold/traded in my cars, they sent me a check for the years still left on the warranty.

Wow you buy a lot of cars. I've owned three cars in the last twenty years.
