You start getting a belly, but instead of looking like you’re obviously pregnant, it just looks like you need to lay off the pudding cups.
Which is also the point where all your regular clothes make you look like a popped can of biscuits, but maternity clothes just fall down constantly. I neeeed that baby bump lol. |

| This is my first pregnancy and I currently look exactly like a popped can of biscuits haha!! It’s actually so depressing to look in the mirror, but I really appreciate the laugh. |
Baaahaaa! Thank you so much, that is EXACTLY where I am! I am soooo bloated from progesterone shots that I just look like I've eaten ice cream for a month. I think I'm too small for maternity clothes but all of my other clothes don't fit!! I keep buying bigger and bigger yoga pants

As someone currently in the "4th trimester"... I'm here to tell you, it gets worse at least you can still say you're pregnant!

Yep, this. |
Omg yes. It’s so so hard while your uterus contrasts. You have this super cute baby but your body looks bad. And my own Dh who is kind and not a jerk made a comment about another womans body the other day. I could tell she was at the pediatrician for one of the first appointments with her newborn. He told me he was shocked she’d gotten pregnant again so soon. Yikes. People just aren’t used to seeing postpartum bodies. |
My belly goes down right away every time, but the rest of me, nope. Just big all over. But I definitely don’t look pregnant. I think this is because I have a really long torso. But, I like OP am most definitely feeling lumpy at 12 weeks. |
Yep, mother of toddler here who's very up-to-speed on DR, postpartum bodies etc and even I assume sometimes. I saw a woman the other day who looked like she was in the early second tri and then I noticed the newborn in the stroller. I flattened out relatively quickly but I cringe at the early (first month) PP pics of me when they show up on the family photo slideshow. |
I don’t even have diastasis recti and didn’t gain too much but I definitely looked 7 months pregnant when I left the hospital. And i saw all my friends and relatives looking at my stomach when they met the baby. I pretty much only gained in my stomach and am short. |
OP here. Years ago before I had kids, a woman who was a client of my work had a baby. At about 9 months postpartum, she wore a fairly tight dress and I said “oh wow, having another baby? How exciting!” Nope. She wasn’t having another baby 🤦♀️ |
