| My son says his team has two sixes this year, an offensive and defensive one. What is an offensive six? Isn’t the size a defensive midfielder? |
| a misnomer. |
| ...a 10. |
| Some teams play with two “6s”. It is sometimes called a double pivot. You can have one of the “6s” play more offensively than the other but both are still the deepest midfielders on the field. |
I was a six. I was also offensive. I still am. You stupid prick. |

| Sounds like an 8. |
| My son claims him, because he says so many offensive things. |
|
it's basically a defensive center midfielder. you can have a defensive center mid and a midfielder who plays slightly in front of them.
or you can have two center mids that play directly next to each other. this explains it https://www.soccerparenting.com/what-in-the-world-is-a-6-u-s-soccers-player-numbering-system-explained/ |
|
| Maybe we can invent “The False 6”. Plays deeper than a normal 6, confusing the other team into thinking there is an extra defender, when in reality they never actually defend and just look to go on 60 yard runs into the attack. |
