This is ridiculous. I get that it's a contingency plan, but then make a plan to do curbside pickup of the laptops if you have to quarantine a kid or a class like they did summer 2020. Please don't make my just turned 5 year old carry a laptop back and forth and also tell me I'm liable for any damage he causes. It's not cool. |
Where did you see this? |
You're not liable for damages. Just try to keep the laptop in good shape. If something happens, then IT will handle it. |
We were told this at back to school night. They also said we were liable for damages to the computer. |
Are you sure it is a laptop and not iPad or something? I cant imagine kindergartners carrying laptops daily! |
Yes, a laptop. My son confirmed that they were shown their laptops this past week. Teacher said they're getting them next week. |
It’s totally ridiculous. They want them sent home to charge at night because they don’t have the space to charge them all in the room the next am. |
Wow here I am thinking my upper ES kid is going to get back issues from carrying a laptop everyday! |
At our ES they have carts in the room for charging. |
Our fourth grader will only bring the computers home if they have homework they are supposed to be do on the computer. The Teachers don’t think the kids should be carrying them back and forth. |
OP, your level of hysteria and overreaction is the real issue. |
But of course your use of the offensive word hysteria is not an issue at all, is it? |
Our school does not have carts for each classroom to charge. |
I’m teaching K and we haven’t even gotten the kids logged into the laptops yet. |
My middle schooler left the school laptop on the floor, stepped on it and cracked the screen. I wasn't charged. The school has insurance. |
