Baltimore School for the Arts

We live in the county but we may try and have our child attend BSA next year. Academically, is it a good school?

I have a kid in high school at Baltimore City College, so no direct experience with BSA, but my impression is that the academics are solid. I think it pulls the best test scores of any of the public high schools in the city. I know of kids who have gone from BSA to Smith and Michigan. Hopefully someone with more direct knowledge will weigh in.

It may very well be the best arts high school in the country when factoring in the balance between arts and academics. It's a wonderful school and a star of the whole system.

I have heard good things about BSA but if you are in the county, why would you not apply to Carver?

I attended in the late 90's, academics were a joke. Not sure how things are now.
