My newly Freshman niece is being offered a car choice by her Father to start off college right.
He is offering her a brand new KIA sedan (cannot remember the model) or a Certified, Pre-Used Honda Accord from a very reliable, Honda dealership. I say go for the KIA. Our mechanic says the Honda Accord V-6. Says it will last much longer and hold its value better. Your opinions on this? |
| I agree with V6 Honda Accord. That’s a nice car for a college student. |
| New Kia. |
|
This is a no-brainer.
Definitely the Honda over the KIA. |
| I would never buy another Kia. NEVER. |
|
Not quite comparable, but some years ago, we traded in a 5 year old Subaru for an 8 year old (yes, 3 years older) Honda with approx similar mileage. The the quality of the Honda, fit/finish/paint quality was better than the Subaru.
Best of luck with your decision, |

Honda for sure.
Kias are the cheapest brand of cars on the road today. |
| Honda of course. Why is this even a question |
Your priors are about 20 years out of date. Today that dubious distinction belongs to either Mitsubishi or Nissan. |
