| Have been tracking a bunch of teams on Instagram and Twitter, but not finding much. Any tips on teams to check out with tryouts this fall, most appreciated. As close-in to downtown DC would be fantastic! Sad that there is no competitive girls’ basketball clubs at middle school level happening in DC, from what I can tell. Please correct me if I am wrong! |
| Contact the teams you are interested in directly. Most will give you a tryout even if they aren’t advertising tryouts. |
| I think most of the tryouts are done. |

What is the typical season for travel basketball?
My impression is that it starts in fall and runs through spring and early summer, and then re-starts with tryouts in the early fall. Sometimes there are second tryouts in February/March for the Spring to early summer season. Please provide more detailed information if my impression is incorrect. Thank you! |
| Winter through summer is common, but there really is nothingness standard with AAU |
| Try capital city Thunder. They are starting a girls program aNd may have tryouts next week. |
| Not sure about in actual “DC” but there are a bunch of youth 5th-8th grade Travel teams in Northern VA/ Moco. Tryouts s start in a few weeks. AAU tryouts are in End of Feb/March. |

It’s going to be hard to find something in DC. Rec space is pretty hard to come by in the city. My kid plays for DC Premier but practices in PG.

| Classics has girls teams. What about MADE in MoCo? Don't worry about whether a team has tryouts coming up. Just find some teams you're interested in, email, and ask if they have spots. They want your money. You will bring your kid to a practice so they can evaluate her. |
Sure Rec type teams but elite teams that are sponsored are another story. And that starts at 14U. |
