Scalp pimples - Help!

My scalp totally breaks out if I am not taking birth control pills. I went off of them a few months ago and here I am again with a totally messed up scalp. I'm sure it's hormonal but has anyone had success with any sort of treatment? I really don't want to start taking the pill again just to control this but I will if I have to.

Have you tried changing your shampoos? or washing your hair more or less often?

PP here, I think they have shampoos that exfoliate the scalp. when i go off the pill my problem is with my jaw line, but using some exfoliant helps a lot.

OP here - I did change to a shampoo that doesn't have sulfates as I read that can overstimulate the scalp to produce too much oil. But it hasn't helped. Are there medicated shampoos?

look for a shampoo with salicylic acid or tea tree oil. Salicylic acid is antibacterial and an exfoliant. Tea tree oil has natural antiseptic properties.

I had this problem and it has gotten better since I started using Kiehl's tea tree oil shampoo.
